I remember back in 2011-12 when I'd read this story for the first time ( I think it was one of my first dramione reads) I had been pretty depressed and unsatisfied with the ending. At that time I used to prefer the ending of The Slow Thaw to this but re reading it after all these years I have to say this might be my favourite dramione story after Draconian Heart from this author. The ending is beautifully done, I do prefer a Hermione who can keep about her wits and not sacrifice the reasonable thing to do because of an ill-bred sexual infatuation with the man who made her life infernal ( a frequent occurence in Dramione stories) The Hermione in here was conflicted and potrayed accurately, she wasn't completely in love with Draco, she acknowledged her desire for his touches but she was not willing to forsake her once chance at freedom. Most authors would've made Hermione change her mind at the last minute and go to back to Draco and some half assed reunion with him in the ministry which after everything she's been through isn't possible irl. There is realism to the story and I love the ambigious, bittersweet ending. The ending was comforting, I personally like to believe that Draco sacrificed his lavish lifestyle and future for settling with Hermione in the muggle world which is very contrary to the initial feelings I'd harboured about the ending years ago. It amazes me how much a person's preferences can change over the years. The beauty of open ended stories!

I hate the ending tho. I hate Draco in this story because he doesn't feel love so much as obsession and possessiveness. He did NOT deserve a happy ending. I wish Hermione could have escaped him and found happiness in brand new life free of everything from the horrors of the magic world.

i glad Hermione still with draco but he is draco Malfoy? or someone with same name? i kinda dissapoint Hermione just leave the magical world, i prefer she change the law or makes another war for that world be better. but.. okay
