MyGuiltiestPleasure chapter 5 . 8/1/2018 Your opening statements and reactions to those unwise and brazen commenters "TigerBabe," were totally appropriate, educating, and tactful. I'm sure I'm a lot older than many of the people reading your fanfiction and with age comes often wisdom. I've found that people lack empathy these days and I am sadden immensely by the harm and hurt caused by halfhearted and unemphatic individuals who really should keep their mouths closed, pen/pencils down and fingers off the keyboard! This age of anonymous commenting has given ignorant, cowardly and unemphatic individuals the opportunities to spew extreme amounts of garbage comments that aim to hurt and destroy the intended receiver. Why?! Why do so many people around the world when given the opportunity to comment on other peoples lives, creative works, etc., become such awful "haters," hard and cruel eager to crush someone they don't even know? Why do others feel the need to comment when they obviously don't have a good solid grasp on rational, clear, appropriate, considerate, wise and intelligent thought? It's because they can cloak themselves behind anonymity?! They feel they don't have to worry about exposing themselves to ridicule for their statements because we don't know who they are! What cowards! Those that comment like you exampled (in your summary to this chapter) will cry "Freedom of Speech." Our Ancestors didn't fight for "Freedom of Speech," to allow these haters and ignorant individuals to rule our communication portals! We as a people need to really begin exposing and bringing to the light these cloaked bandits. They really bring to mind the clan members in the U.S. who wear those white robes and masked hoods to hide who they are from the public because they don't want backlash from their actions. To me it means they know they are wrong but anonymity gives them freedom to be knowingly wrong! The only cure for this in my opinion is to do exactly what you did "TigerBabe," and that is to wisely on an open platform communicate their mistake and hatred and educate them on why they were mistaken and how powerless their statement(s) were! The other step I know you are doing "TigerBabe," is to not take such comments deep inside yourself and let them change you and make you waver in who you are and what your goals are in this life:-) Please continue to recognize them as the unwise, unemphatic primary students who hopefully one day will grow up and become better individuals. Please keep writing and using your gift to give yourself what "you," need. TigerBabe your real brave nonfiction story and this piece of great fanfiction can be used as very powerful educational tools to teach people how to help those they care about recover themselves after a crisis like the one you had and the one Legolas is having in your fanfiction. Asking survivors of hardship what they want and need from family, friends, coworkers and medical professional, etc., is empowering to them and allows them to move towards healing themselves faster and healthier. Thanks for this eye opening reading experience - I've been touched by your personal story and by your gift of fanfiction:-) |

A prolificreader chapter 15 . 3/1/2013 though i have read many stories in my time novels, short stories from magizines and stories from the internet this one was a sad one but happiness previaled as always...by the way it was a amazing first one keep it up! |
Rawiyah chapter 15 . 2/16/2011 This was actually a huge eye-opener for me... And I can honestly say it was actually very painful to read. I'm pretty sadistic, (on a good day.) and I've never had any problems reading stories involving torture, rape or pain until I read this. I can't say that I was in a situation similar to you... (The biggest reason being that I am a girl, and I feel it's more socially known about females falling victim to sexual abuse than men.)... but regardless, this story really opened my eyes and brought back painful memories that I pretty much forgot about up until now. I commend you so much for having the courage to write about your story through this. Especially since most survivors don't tell anyone! I was shocked at the sudden confession from Pippin. Pippin is such an adorable character, and to imagine something like that happening to Pippin really upset me... (I'm sorry to say, I ended up skimming quite a bit of your story) Nonetheless, you are an amazing author, and I applaud you for letting it be known what happens to rape victims. Then again, I'm sure I'm not the only victim out there who's been deeply touched by this... and you're probably sick of hearing me babble. Ah well. I loved this, I loved this, I loved this. Clear as mud. |
VictoireAgathon chapter 15 . 5/23/2010 this was a good story. I especially liked the pippin element because i know all to well how the people who are the must hurt inside are the ones you never expect. It is much easier to hide your hurt and pain or cut to try (but not succeed) to make it go away then it is to admit it and seek help. this story, does help one understand that you need help sometimes and that you are not alone. Martiny the one and only still chapter 4 . 5/30/2008 Some storys have me so captivated...yet make me want an excuse to walk away b/c I don't want to know what happens but I do want to know and its realy confusing and Ill read 5 wors a min...This is one of them...so far...ARRG WHY? READ OR NOT READ READ OR NOT READ! |
Guest chapter 1 . 1/2/2008 You guys seriously need to learn to respect other peoples oppinions. Whoever ? is, well he's entitled to his oppinion. Ciriticism is not always a 'flame'. I also think that Legolas is out of character. I think that the author could have used a girl instead. But this is her story, and I respect that. Show some respect too. |
