I heartily agree with most of them. Especially #8. I hate when they go from first kiss to shaging like rabbits in half an hour. Seen that one more often that I would care. I always interpret it as laziness from the writer.

My personal do and don't list would include reunion stories. Same kind of laziness that occur with #4 tends to happen here. DO these stories. DON'T is actually a looking list. Anyone who has read more than ten of these stories know what I mean.

FOLLOW ALL OF THESE STEPS! I fully stand by all of these steps. I would allow a pass on step 4 or 7, but this author is correct, they have been done to death. therefore if you are going to incorporate them make sure you have other interesting angles in your plot.

ahhaaaa I loved it...its seriously a great guideline for anyone writing a dramione...sorry to say I've used a few of those cliches myself...*blush* but only two I think, and in my defence , i use 'slytherin sex god' as a mockery so... :P

Makes perfect sense! I'm not a writer, but I do love reading fanfics..especially dramoine. I just hope others will follow your advice/tips.. coz its kind of tiring reading the same plot line again and again. anyways.. great job!

I agreed with everything except Step Four. Personally, I do enjoy them sharing living quarters. I like the bickering that ensues and the unresolved sexual tension that permeates in close spaces, teehee! But I still think you did a pretty good job explaining the rest. Cliche's are no fun but sometimes a well written story, cliche-ridden as it may be, can be worth the read. Nevertheless, thanks for posting this informative list. I hope that following Dramione writers would read this first before plunging ahead and bungling their fic up by including ALL of your don'ts lol.

I love this! you did a really great job writing this, and all of the points you made are wonderful. I know i've used the Hermione and Draco share a living space & bathroom once or twice, but you're right, readers have come to expect it (i know i have).

The one point I absolutely LOVE though, is the one about the marriage law. I see it tons of times, and some people use it well, but some are just horrible with it and it ruins a potentially good story.
