I just want to mention “douzo yoroshiku” is actually an EXTREMELY rude way to introduce yourself to someone, much less someone of much higher status, aka a friend’s older family and host of party. The lack of keigo is of course a reason, but even before that the lack of naming oneself, the utter lack of respect in tone it can be taken even as mockery. To translate to English, think of it as demanding and ordering a friend’s parents around that you just met, without ever saying please or thank you. I’d combine that image with a smirk on the face, it’s just extremely rude.

Something more appropriate may beHajimemashite, Takeo no tomodachi no Shibuya to moshimasu.”

Even that is just a simplified version. If you were to be mature and respectful you’d thank them for the invitation to party as well, perhaps say that you are in his grandson’s care, and then you say PLEASE take care of me (yoroshikuONEGAISHIMASU). Japanese manners, it’s complicated. You can get even more formal but well... it’s kids, basic keigo is enough, even if even then they may earn a frown in the upper social circles.

Stumbled on this after I don't even know how many years since last time read to discover two more chapters! I love how Hikaru was listening to an audio book while Sai played against Akira the one time. XD And how his false names came crumbling down. Wondering if Yuuichi's going to see an article about the incident at the party as well. :) Hope you're still working on this story little by little in the back of your brain. I'm patient. :D

It's really good...unique and fun... can't wait to see his kendo too... like hikaru prodigy in both... seems like he has innate talent for those in this fic... such a nice change from soccer hikaru... and it keeps getting interesting and interesting with hikaru trying to keep himself hidden... sai being funny but good mentor and frnd... akari being his sis was a surprise but oh well, not bad it was something different... I hope u update it sometime soon when u get time and don't forget ur readers are waiting... would be said to see such a good fic going hiatus like many others... so don't give up if u ever think of it lol... I like this... it is quite good... keep going :)

THAT WAS TERRIFIC! i mean, GOOD. GREAT, what's great about this story is... NEW perspective than usual hikago fanfiction story. so it was fresh. good, that's good for you.
i am sooooooo wanna know what happened next. if i can, i will persuade you for it... which is no. i won't do that.
i prefer you write in your own pace.. and write it with your maximum ability.

This was great! And I mean it! I think the general characterization and the plot itself is really well written and intriguing. Your spelling/grammar needs some work though, especially in the earlier chapters, but I'm sure you already know that considering this was published in 2010. I love the idea of a more ghostlike Sai who's only in his head and can at will sorta posses him. It makes Hikaru's introduction to Go that more gradual in turns of interest to the game while everyone else thinks it's his passion. I also find myself loving any own characters you add. That old man and his friend's death made my lip wobble, but the thought that ghost Sai had been sent to make him continue to live made me smile again. It's the little things that makes me happy, generally. Excellent explanation about the tessai manoeuvre by the way.
