Oh, I don't know what i'm feeling for Jareth right now. I think it's sweet, but that he's being really cruel, and then that everything is just so out of touch with his thinking somehow he can't imagine what's going through her head. Ah well, i loved it regardless!

I am surprised at you. While this story is compelling and intriguing it is lacking something. Can you feel it? It's lacking the taste of purpose. Jareth has much knowledge...but no understanding. He knows attraction, but has no understanding of "Love". He knows beauty, but no understanding of what true beauty means. His essence is of magic and time...but of no value of purpose nor destiny. Honestly, his "purpose" is to take unwanted kids away? Why did magic feel the need to make this happen! Lol. I'm not putting down your work. I'm more or less "writing aloud" my musings on the matter.

Long story short; he is, in other words, incomplete. Regardless of being made by magic or not, he still has a soul. He was given a heart for a purpose. Magic transformed him originally into the shape a man for a PURPOSE, wheither he can transform his shape or not.

And Sarah IS his equal even if he doesn't know. He is immortal (whatever that means since "time" is a very subjective thing) and she is mortal. He is all cruelty with the potential to be kind. And she is kindness with the potential to be cruel. She may act like still a child,(and so does he) but there's no questioning the kindness that lies within her. That's why she made friends with Ludo, Sir Didymus, and Hoggle.

Basically, NiennatheWise, I really hope that JARETH comes out of this journey as a much more understanding individual like Sarah did. I hope that it betters both of them in the end and the Goblin King find more to life then just sitting around the Underground waiting to take babies away lol. Otherwise, I pity his story indeed. And would rather be a mortal any day of the week. In a way, he is limited in a way that Sarah is not. When sarah dies, she will move onto the next grand stage of her life. And he is trapped in his state forever.

But in all honesty, I'm just really hoping for some romance here, hehe. I like the Sarah/Jareth pairing because their chemistry is undeniable.

It's a good thing Jareth's not omniscent and can see the future, it's going to be way more fun watching him realize she's not what he assumes she is and what she's really like.
