My word, what an unusual take on this! I really did enjoy it, yet it still made me achingly sad. A sort of hollow feeling, I guess. It reminded me of a different time in my life. Not really a good time, to be honest. But that's not your fault. You wrote this exceptionally well, and it captured my emotions! Well done.
