DimpleCurlAeternaGirl chapter 1 . 3/9/2018
I love how you take canon and turn it into and incredible, heartfelt scene filling in blanks since we don't have that 3rd party POV. This is beautiful and heart rendering in an already tragic episode.

Jack wouldn't have known this but I watched the scene a while ago and there is a friggin first aid kit where Lapidas is with the sub captain. It's on the upper wall behind them in the control room. It figures, right?

I like how Jack hands Kate to Hurley to get her to the surface. In the show, Jack entrusted his friend with important tasks saying "I believe in you." In this scene, he trusts Hurley with the one person more important than his own life and being, Kate.

The beach reunion is perfect. They are broken from loss, she sobbed when they reach him and Jack's inner dialogue completes a critically important reunion between them. They both survived in spite of everything that happened!

Thank you for writing this!

The Lostie Guest chapter 1 . 1/4/2016
I know you wrote this like 6 years ago, but I've been really looking for some good Lost fan fictions lately. And have I found one? I think I have!

Damn gurl, you can WRITE.. Not just write, like the frilly petty kind of write, but you can WRITE
Anon chapter 1 . 8/7/2014
So, so good. Can't quite put words to the way you write Jate. You just get them, perhaps better than anyone. You capture their emotions, thoughts, actions so perfectly. Bravo and thanks!
ems023 chapter 1 . 8/30/2011
Although, I have only recently started reading fan fiction, I am a HUGE fan of Lost and JATE. Erica, this is such a well written piece and your ability to channel Jack and Kate in your writing is uncanny- this also holds true to all your stories. Your insight and ability to capture the true essence of these characters is amazing. To reiterate what other people have already stated, your stories actually make me feel like I am watching an actual episode. Also, this piece showcases your range - you can write action sequences with such vividness while simultaneously giving the characters dialogue and inner monologue that comes across as so organic and true to the situation. I really hope that you continue to write because, so far, your stories are the closest to the actual show (if not better, you have written some scenes that SHOULD have been part of LOST).
MorningGlory2 chapter 1 . 4/21/2011
Wow! This is SO intense! I loved this! I felt like I was watching it all from a different (Jack's) perspective. Your writing and characterization is so spot on. Really wonderful job with this. Your writing is amazing. :-D
Aaileen chapter 1 . 3/1/2011
You, my friend can write action! So much was happening throughout that entire scenario. You went from the dock to the sub to the beach smoothly. Not a clunky transiion to be found. I loved how you conveyed Jack's POV, I like third person as well, it is less limiting.

It is hard for me to understand Jack for a little while at the end of season 6 when he is completely consumed by his mission, especially when he said, "they aren't my people". He became separated by his calling, (a little aside here-fulflling the meaning of his tattoo)...Even though I realise the necessity of that drawing apart, I never really liked it. But here, this scenario revealed his true heart, it still loved Kate. He got on that sub, even though he was committed to staying on the island.

This: "She was breathless, sweaty, trembling and boring holes into him, her eyes never leaving his, never breaking the connection they always engaged in, with any situation. She was everything to him and she was looking back at him with just as much commitment and vulnerability. He lost himself, and strained to speak over the huge lump that suddenly formed in his throat."

The way you wrote this story echoed the intentions of the writers, Jack still loved Kate. You conveyed it beautifully.

A belated thank you, again
Sunshine and Chocolate chapter 1 . 9/11/2010
I loved this part especially, "She fit perfectly against him, like they both knew she would." because that just brings the image of Kate and Jack to my mind and it is a perfect descripition for what happened in that moment between them.
LenaGuffi chapter 1 . 8/2/2010
Great story! So vivid and realistic and I wish we'd seen on our sceen some of the detais you added, like Kate holding Jack's hand before bomb was about to explode. You really do get Jack's character, like no one else does.

I wish you've added Sun and Jin's death scene, but I understand why you didn't.

as always your loyal fan

Elena

this was so beautiful girl! You got both of their emotions and characters down perfectly and I loved the 3rd person perspective. You do it so well (makes me jealous, I have such a problem with it, lol!). I especially love your attention to detail. Everything you write is so rich and descriptive. wonderful job bb! Hope to see more from you soon :D
