Epic fecking WIN. XD;; It's about time someone threw Shadow's own line back in his face [though I admit it's only been preserved in SA2 and Sonic X] to show him he's not the god damn boss _

Though the real diamond in the ruff with that bout between he and Amy, was how - unlike most ShadAmy fics' interpretations of Shadow - he didn't go out of his way by having a Knuckles-moment and retorting against her snaps. Instead, he actually managed to stay on topic with a neutral approach to her attitude. At one point I had assumed it would light his temper, but at another, from what I see in the games and even the terribly characterized Sonic X [X_x;; ], such things don't get a real rise out of him and he handles it reservedly. Matter of fact, he treated Sonic's temper like he deliberately wanted to piss him off in SA2. It seems that when it's someone else smirking in his face, he gets irritated v; I.E. Rouge and Sonic.

ANYWAY - Well, while I admit that the gist of the story is quite a common variation and extremely quick, I think I saw past that and understood the overall spectrum you were getting at.

You had a specific setpoint and a specific conclusion in mind. The theme dominated the exchange, and depending on the reader, that can be a good or bad thing. In terms of what's best for a hurt/comfort mature content situation [and to keep it as real as possible even if it pushes canon off the cliff], exaggerating an exchange or disheartened feelings between two characters is essential to build up the emotion of the story so that the conclusion can satisfy it. What caused me to accept the plotline at the end of the story, was that you were using a setting from Sonic Chronicles. Now, Sonic Chronicles is based on whatever dialogue you wish to choose for Sonic, and one category of his in-game dialogue towards Amy [and everyone else], is absolutely wretched to where her reaction in this story is how I could see it being. So, you were using an actual subplot reference that exists, expanded on it to fit your plot direction, and centered it as a device for the story. Flanderization can be important to pave the process.

Hm, I never thought Amy not knowing if Sonic cared was a gripe for her...I would've thought it was just the need for his reciprocation in every trait she's longing for out of him. Sonic cares about, well, everyone. It's an instinct in every human being, really. I feel the same about Shadow, Knuckles, and Rouge - since they're hastier characters, but they all own up to being innately caring towards more than one person [Rouge has more of this in Sonic X, however].

The ShadAmy romance was extremely fast, but I had gotten the feeling that the romantic confession wasn't what was supposed to be lingered on by the reader. To me, the significance lied in the intercourse and its conclusion.

"And if worse came to worse, he had at least given them both a chance to be happy, if only for a moment."

So I was thinking you were giving a new "alternative" to the idea of "making her happy," which is basically, putting her in a "feel good, momentary high of bliss"-moment. And honestly, sex is possibly the raw example of achieving such a thing. "All good things must come to an end/good things don't last forever" is like how a beautiful, addictive feeling between two bodies will eventually come off their blissful highs after climax. Living things [or humans, preferrably] are all addicts addicted to one common thing: feeling good. And feeling good, is a brief state of happiness, despite whatever form it's being given in.

So I felt like that was the one-shot's designated purpose. Granted, that's not really a romantic concept [which I think was the point], but that conception is very raw and real, which is why I preferred that rawness, as well as bluntness of Amy's decision to experience the inkling of "feeling good" she had when he kissed her due to curiosity and stimulation. Speaking as a "realist," I've known people - and been in such situations - in real life where, in a moment of contorted feelings, you give into the offered outlet to both release those feelings and replace them with new "feel good" ones. It's how many people end up in, "She Will Be Loved" affairs. Sex can be more about personal release than love, after all.

I've always labeled Shadow and Amy as characters who deeply live "in the moment" of things and make sure they wrap their fingers around that moment for as long as they can hold it, without a second thought - it would lead to unwise, hasty results, but hey, that's how you learn.

In my own conclusion, I actually liked the idea of it once I homed in on it. Many readers may fail to feel that way, but screw it, I think I got it.

...Wait, grown into something more with the passage of time in this actual story, or in a "developed" canon universe? w;;;

Miss Nakajima this story has given me a surge of inspiration! Being a diehard shadamy girl, I absolutely loved it.

I really enjoyed the interaction between shadow and amy as well it really didn't feel fake to me like other stories have a tendency of doing. The lemon was quite satiating and I look forward to any more Shadamy fics you do in the future 3

I loved it! Although it is a bit of a repeating mantra to make Sonic seem like the jerk of all jerks for this pairing I have to admit, I like how you made his character just as indecisive as any hero. Its somewhat to me reminescient of the Spider-man movies and how at first he turned Mary Jane down for her protection. And I too had the feeling that Shadow would develop feelings that Sonic wouldn't for Amy over time that she wouldn't know about...of course thats just fanshipping speaking though, any pairing could happen if you put enough thought in it. Either way, love the story! You got a hit right here!
