Well thought-out, with some GORGEOUS details. I particularly love that you managed to explain what was going on without info-dumping it, and that you mixed the elements of Yubel being both human and animal so well.

There are a few pieces of dialogue where I could see some alterations in the sake of realism (e.g. I'd expect "I know who that is" to carry the "OH SHIT" connotation in the voice, instead of having to have it spoken aloud), but overall it's well-written, coherent, and has a tight narrative line.

... I have to ask, what would the poachers do with the furs? Make an exploding fur coat? also, I don't recall reading about the knife being removed from Juudai. Just thought I'd point out, all thought it's a good story. Well done.
