Such a sad story. To have the love of your life ignore you and pretend you don't even exist, I can only imagine how much that would have shattered Helga's heart. It was always sad how much Helga would bully and torture Arnold, all in the name of protecting her secret. Yes, there are consequences to your actions, but even Helga doesn't deserve to be treated like she doesn't even exist, especially when she already feels like that at home. At least there is a happy ending to the story, with Arnold apologizing for hurting her so badly and Helga starting to let down her walls a bit to Arnold.

Ignoring someone like they don't exist is the worst thing ever!
I know what Arnold feels (though my situation have nothing to do with Anger or Bullying). and I only did it for few hours at school in that one day only. (Oh God One of My Greatest Stupid awkward memories ever)
And feels sooooo bad. Mostly Awkward.

No one deserve that. Seriously. Even in the name of Pay Back, or Revenge, or even Just Prank.
The one who received that treatment would be very upset if not just confused, or worst turned depressed.

Anyway, I like his Guilt and how he told Gerald his reason why he need to stop this action.

Nice story. I like how the ending makes me think of Grandpa and Grandma's relationship. I personally think what would have made this story even better (but most likely probably much longer) was if some kid from Spain was transferred to their school and started picking on Helga when she was down. Anyways, interesting concept to jumpstart their friendship. I could totally see it working.

I really hope I find a/the sequel to this. Thank you for this little bit of crushing ignorance turned understanding. I was kinda sad with Helga's guarded reaction to Arnold saving her, considering how broken she had been about him ignoring her and how she had promised to not say another cruel word to him. I felt something like that situation could actually make her resolve firm. But then I was satisfied with her efforts at the end of their walk and in her house. And so, overall, fantastic and imaginative story! I really hope I get to see more. (:

this was a beautiful story. i enjoy reading every minute of it even if certain parts were sad and hard to bare. i really did love this. i hope there is a sequel or something. anyhoo, excellent job. im off now.
