I'm not sure if this will get to you: it's clearly many years later! I obsessively kept up with this story in middle school, being a particularly brand of geeky which liked both Hetalia and West Side Story. I remember refreshing this tab on my first smart phone on the bus every morning. Thank you for a piece of joy.

I now am getting my master's in historical musicology, after years of training as a classical soprano. I was going through various memories and thought I'd see if I could find this fic. What a surprise when I got to this chapter and saw that Lovina sang a song at her audition which I sang at my own junior recital! It became a staple of my rep, and I didn't even know I had actually heard it many years earlier.

I loved this then and I love this now. This was one of my formative fanfics, seriously— I can still remember the scenes and the descriptions, and it made me interested in West Side Story, too, when before I wouldn’t have thought twice about it. So, thanks, I guess.

PS; Haakon, or Håkon, is not a surname. It's a first name! Kings don't have surnames. Just tought I'd tell you. A surname could be something like Håkonsen. Just some words of advice from a Norwegian. ;3

I like the story a lot! It's very cute. And Lovina is perfect. And don't worry about the loss in reads. It's just people sulking over the fact that this isn't a USUK story. Personally, I don't ship many Hetalia ships, but Spamano is a pretty entertaining and cute one.

GREAT full length story with good characterization and plot development. The half USUK was a nice touch. Highly recommended that you know what West Side Story is about though.
