I never understood the whole Rose Tyler thing because Gwen was a conniving, scheming botch. The whole affair with Owen, the retcon she gave Rhys when she confessed, the mooning over Jack when she claimed that she couldn't live without Rhys so much that she was willing to sdestroy the world to get him back - she used and manipulated jack's feelings for her and he was such a MAN that he didn't get it. I like the take you have on his reasons but he's still an idiot. lol

Thank you for putting such a lovely twist on that scene, where Jack actually appreciates Ianto ... instead of the shallow, callous, disinterested way he treated him in that particular episode. In my opinion, the greatest tragedy in the Ianto/Jack love story ... was that Ianto fell hard for a careless Casanova who treated him like crap from Day 1 of their romance to the infamous death scene ... Jack remained the heartless bastard til the end, too wrapped up in himself to care about sending Ianto off with love! I don't even blame Gwen for her role in the Ianto/Jack affair throughout the series ... Jack WANTED her involved because he WANTED everyone around him ... but not the incredible love of the man at his side, who laid down his life to prove his love.

Mostly because people deny or try to ignore what is OBVIOUSLY written between Jack and Gwen because you can't really deny it. But at the same time, you can't deny what is so obviously between Ianto and Jack either. I like to think of a happy medium. He loves them both but in different ways. Just because I like those moments between Jack and Gwen doesn't mean that I think Ianto is just a "fling" or a quick shag. He's obviously not. And jack very obviously loves and cares about Ianto. -XOXO Casey

Love this song... and how you have used it to tell this story... Have to say you hit every point of what I felt was Gwen's & Jack's attitude especially his taking of Ianto for granted. Fitting song...
