Obviously the set up for the story is highly implausable, but strange coinsidences do happen everyday and its not impossible that Sam might have caught sight of Johns truck in that motel parking lot.

I love that both of them are too stubborn or maybe too scared to make the first move at reconciliation, so sure that the other wouldnt want it. They are so much alike and dont even realize it.

I always wondered if John would occasionally find himself in California and wander by the Stanford campus just to see if a certain tall, hazel-eyed student was doing ok.

That was a lovely story and so very in character for both Sam and John.

I would love to see them catch up and find out what really happend to Sam

I'm so pleased you're writing again and what a way to come back! Awesome fic!

This fit so nicely into canon. Knowing from Dean that John stopped by to check on Sam and that the two didn't officially meet until Shadow. And I loved the idea that despite his own injuries, Sam took care of his Dad, his presence silent but John can see the signs around the room.

Neat ending too, with John wanting to repay the favour and watch over Sam in hospital but missing his chance. True Winchester luck there and it really fits with the show and lack of communication that seems to be a Winchester trait!

And what a lovely touch with John seeing that Jess and Sam were going to be more than friends. I really liked that. I'm so pleased to have you back and I wish you luck with your other fics! Great read and thanks for sharing. Take care, Abbi

Haven't lost your touch girl, no way! What a great and sad story. Sam wanting to help his father and then John wanting the same, but neither one willing to let the other know they were there. Fit's perfectly with the story and their personalities. I'm just glad that John found out it was in fact Sam that helped him. Great Job, Gill. This was wonderful. I loved how Sam went to see his dad even though he was injured. Sure he thought Dean would be there too, but still. And when he found him injured, he didn't think twice and helped. Poor kid wore himself out and collapsed. And there was no doubt in John's mind, who the expressive, gentle and courteous young man they were talking about was. Too bad, he didn't make contact, but he obviously saw Jess and he decided to be there in other ways. Great story. Can't wait for you to put up more of your others again. Hugs, Vonnie
