Kudos for pointing out that states' rights was the real (or at least initial) issue. Just curious, but was Alfred referring to how they burned all the fields to the ground as they went? The North were in the right regarding slavery (obviously) but they weren't really nice to us either-war is ugly.

Anyway, the flashback with Alfred in the cage was a bit eerie. I really liked it!

And poor Alfred, just waking up in the middle of nowhere.

Nice story. Lol, Alfred's choice of comfort food is really eccentric.
