I love and enjoy your story the way it is you should keep writing it the way YOU want and if people don't like it then they don't have to read it.

I'm very sorry that some jerk had to go and say your writing is trash. I would like to tell you that it is not, it is some of the most beautifully written works I have read. I can vividly see everything happening in my mind. Whatever you may work on, it isn't 'trash'. If anybody were to say that over such a silly thing as your working on other things, then they obviously don't appreciate good writing. And your characters, I love them. They are all very good, I would even love to hear what characters you have been up to making nowadays too!
As for rewriting your story, I would love to see you do what makes you happy as a writer. Take out what characters you feel like you can't handle, rewrite it. Leave it. Pick up something new. Everybody gets uninspired, and sometimes it's impossible to pick things back up, there is only so much you can do. I think it would be best if you did what makes you happy. All your writing is worth rewriting or leaving it as it is, whatever would make you feel best. If you want to write different things, then I think you should do it!
