I first read this in 2012 and it stuck with me for years. I still think about it all the time, like the episode where Iceland is convinced Norway is trying to kill him, the time they taught Denmark to drive. It didn't need an epic plot, just sweet, wholesome realness, and characters outlined with a masterful hand. All of them are complicated and nuanced in a way that is mature and unusual, and even as a young teen I recognized that. It sounds kind of strange to say this, but this is one of those stories that I read at a formative time in my life and that really shaped how I thought both about writing characters and about the real people around me. I didn't realize that the story had been finished when I came back and reread it. It was so much fun rediscovering all the episodes I had forgotten, and realizing that there was an ending that I had never read before. Thank you for a perfect last chapter.

Awww, this chapter was just so touching! My favourite character is Norway, and I just see him to be the deep one, the one on a different page then the others. This chapter is definitely just so beautiful and moving. I really admire you, as even though you gave up on this story for 3 years, you came back to finish it, and I can't imagine the ending being better. I felt so touched, and can only hope that I can write as good as you! I wish you well, and am very pleased that you took the time to make this fanfiction for our own pleasure and as a way to spend time.

Hey! in the southern states of the US we have something similar to kräftskiva! Though we usually just call it a crayfish or crawdad boil :D I've been to one before and it was really fun! There were about 15 people and over 200 crayfish!

This is so funny, it’s been literal years since I subbed to this, it’s like returning to an old classic you read as a kid, remembering the stuff you were into and finding it just as good like well aged cheese or some shit. This will always be one of my favourite fan fictions. It's honestly so well written n whilst cute oneshots come and go I always find myself rereading this one over and over. It's great, I love the way you portray them all and I love the ending just as much, that it's so well written and doesn't just trail off or end badly. I totally forgot to review when I first read this, but since a few months ago this story has become a Hetalia classic to me. I love the Nordics, and I especially love your balance between humorous and serious topics. It all flowed extremely well even though there were large time gaps between chapters. Even though I finished reading a while ago, I come back every so often when I run out of good fanfictions to read. Thank you for writing something so wonderful!

Excuse my language, but holy shit! This story is so well written! And there are so many feels! This is such an amazing fic that explores not only the Nordics past, but also theirs relationships and everyday life! Oh my. This was definitely interesting. I have realized that I am likely a little too much like Norway. I hold grudges wayyy too much. Oops, human mistake. But, anyhow, good job!

I really love this! But... I am a language-/Nordics-Nerd... And so I have to add something to the part where Finland watches TV
... You are totally right about the routs of the languages, that was very true... but... Finland (the country outside of Hetalia) is officially bilingual, with Swedish and Finnish, which should mean that aph Finland can speak both languages as well. Therefore he should understand the Danish TV... A bit at least.
But here's the even more important fact: In all Nordic countries, movies and shows are aired in their original language with fitting subtitles. So the biggest part of the program is in English, which Finland should easily understand. Even if there are Danish I am so sorry I've been a smart ass about that now... I just wanted to tell that someone... But this "book" is still awesome.. .
