Astrid's internal thoughts and feelings quite well described in the first part, even with some realizations coming directly from the heart (like her stomping her foot or the immensely funny "No way! Not with him?"), alternatively leisurely and sweet and naive (effect of the cold).

Realistic dialogue in the second part with a few poignant passages, and a moving end.

Well-written on the whole.

Tiny footnote: I'm not sure she would have had already considered as a future potential "kissing-material" Snotlout - and no idea for Tuffnut - but maybe rather an older guy at this time.
