I thought Merlin was meant to be the most powerful wizard? Considering he pretty much curbstomped Nimueh who had way more experience I would have thought Merlin would've had an easier time killing or taking care of Mergause. I.e. the use of many lightning bolts. In fact I was expecting that or something like that to occur the moment Morgana was in trouble as Gaius almost dying caused Merlin to go beast mode last time.

I'll be honest. I really struggled to read and get through this chapter. I felt quite overwhelmed by the characters and it felt to be way too much and I had to skim and scan. Also the whole bit between Ar and Er confused me. I definitely wasnt expecting that

Honestly I swear the Merlin Fandom HATEEEE Mergause with a passion cause damn every story I read she is a colossal bitch. That being said even in the show she was hella manipulative and from the vibes season 5 gave off I'm pretty sure Mergause did to Morgama what Morgana did to Gwen with that dark tower shit. Sadly Morgana wasnt saved.

Regardless my point is I hope Mergause dies.

I will be honest I do like the story so far but Gods do I wish for a little more subtlety and like less tell and more like showing through actions. Like I would rather figure out that Ar and Er are evil and probably in bed with the enemy rather than having it be blisteringly obvious they aren't good eggs. Perhaps that's just me. but I've always loved just figuring it out as the story goes on rather than knowing from the start those two are either probably evil or have some ploy or they're just discontent nobles wanting weaker ruler.

So, Aroded is a creep and just like every other suitor Morgana would've had who never saw her for her. Also I just realised isnt Merlin meant to be kind compassionate and like helpful. I always thought he would have lapped up a chance to do right by Morgana rather than call her a liar and just refuse her despite her coming for help and being so torn. Merlin confuses me here
