The last bit of this chapter was perfect...i'm glad Elena said she loved him.

You got into Damon's head perfectly, the soul-destroying fear that he could almost have everything he's ever wanted and because of how often he's been burned he's afraid to hope. I am so glad that she started being honest with him and admitted that her relationship with Stefan was more about hiding from all the pain and changes in her life more than being a normal healthly relationship. I can't decide if I want human Damon or vampire Damon. Thanks for updating.
