Reviews for Living on forever
holydemon00 chapter 9 . 10/11/2012
Sweet ending to a fantastic ride, though I have a small wonder of how many idolizing boys would line up to have Ron's signature.
holydemon00 chapter 7 . 10/11/2012
Kim's empress nightmare broke me into tear. Kim's desperate love and Ron's forgiving support, combined with the eternally tragic dilemma and the ethical grayness, have the potential to make it a very powerful and memorable love story. Immortality has always been the common subject in fiction, both as a curse and a gift, and so does finding a cure for a loved one, but your combination of both works! Of course, Kim and Ron's practically codependent relationship certainly boosts the helpless feel to the tragedy. Anyhow, the idea was so original that I doubt that it has ever been depicted anywhere. Did you get the inspiration from somewhere else, because I'd love to read the original version where it comes from. If it was entirely yours, I would say that you're having an award-winning plot right there.
Burnzs chapter 9 . 12/4/2011
That was truly... an amazing story. I liked the way it was written, and the characters, and the epilogue. Pretty much awesome all around...

I guess I'll have to check out more of your stories.
Burnzs chapter 6 . 12/3/2011
that was a nice exciting tangent from the main story line. Nicely written, too.
Burnzs chapter 5 . 12/3/2011
I really like the way you tell this story. I'm sure you've already been told, but you got some talent going for ya. I'm gonna go ahead and read more now. I just wanted to put that out.
Valerie3 chapter 5 . 8/13/2011
I loved Ron's response at the end when Kim came in his room. He must have been half asleep because he didn't say much. I'm sure that if he had been wide awake he would have freaked out and said something about being sent out to a black hole.
Data Seeker chapter 9 . 12/30/2010
Dear Author

Nice little epilog. The quality is pretty good, good narration, dialog, interaction, humor and emotion.

The part with Ron and Kim talking about their adventure and how the nightmares are fading was short, but very sweet.

The following scenes with Shego suffering from Karma were done very well, from the nightmares she had to Kim and Shego reconciling (as much as a hero and villain can anyway). I am glad you tried to keep the innuendo tones down. (Thank you).

And I noticed some reviewers' criticized you for making Shego modest. I personally disagree. Her jumpsuit isn't very revealing and she wears a one-piece swimsuit. I personally think she is at least as modest as Kim (just out of pride and dignity of course, not scruples).

The following scenes with Kim and Ron were very comical, romantic and had great interaction.

The wholesome standards are...passable. I am glad you didn't make the scenes with Shego's karma dreams graphic. THANK YOU.

I hope this review brightens your day. God bless.

Slipgate chapter 8 . 12/29/2010
I'm late to review this chapter, but I'll reflect on some important moments:

1) I really enjoy the aspect of how you actually remember Anubis' presence in an episode of the series, and even more that you re-cast it so that real, true Anubis makes what they were dealing with in 'Pain King vs. Cleopatra' just a fragment of his power at best.

2) It is both awesome in a "don't try tricking a deity" and a certain kind of offbeat humor that Anubis punishes Monkey Fist, Kim, and Ron the way he does. Technically, Monkey Fist achieved one of his ambitions - he just hadn't thought it through recently. And Kim and Ron got off in an interesting way. :)

3) The emotion of the actions Ron and Kim had to take, both outside of and within the "realm of death," were something that really had me attacking everything I saw from every angle my mind could think of and really appreciating the THINKING you had readers doing. There were inventive "physics" and "rules" involved (for lack of better words) and the emotional component was perfect. How Ron is just about dying as he realizes what is happening to Kim, and in fact what he himself has to do at one point - wow.

4) The parallels and the differences from the dream before make it both heart-wrenchingly happy and heart-wrenchingly sad. I call foul, sir! We're supposed to live in a world of black and white! How dare you make things more complicated than that! :)
Slipgate chapter 9 . 12/29/2010
This story is wrapped up with a little bow on top.

I've been reading two different continuities (and yet another one-shot) from you recently, and I'm noticing some commonality in what I'm reading. (Aside from the obvious that they're all representations of the Kim and Ron cartoon characters even in different continuities and that they're all by the same author.) I've noticed that in both 'The Road Ahead' and 'Living on Forever' that Kim and Ron are at this point talking very casually about what amounts to spending their futures together without either one being surprised by the topic.

In 'The Road Ahead' it was when Kim and Ron wanted to discuss something with Kim's parents, and Kim's mom got really hopeful, and Kim understood what her mom was thinking and told her it wasn't that... at least not yet. Here in 'Living on Forever' there's the fact that Kim is talking about dreams with Ron that are about them spending the rest of their lives together. Now she's talking about these as favorable to the nightmares she was having before, but the fact that she can so casually bring this up, and he can so casually receive it, coupled with the fluffy moments you otherwise write in both stories, suggests that in either of these stories there's a real intensity of emotion (I mean BIG time, compared to people much older than them even) and that they may as well consider themselves informally engaged.

It's incredibly sweet, but I am sometimes surprised when I think about it. Maybe it's just that I was far more gradual and slow about leaping the mental rungs of maturity than Kim and Ron are, but I am reminded of just how much older I am than them, and when I was able to make some of the mental leaps I see they already have made. :) Of course, in waveform's Fast Track universe, Kim and Ron got married when they were like 19, and waveform sold that well - he made the case for them being mature enough, and far enough in their new lives (even as recent as high school had been) to sell it and sell it well. Here, they may not have the future planned, but you definitely sell the idea, in both stories, that they know who they intend to face it with if not what shape it will take.

I guess this comes to mind here because of seeing the casual mention of spending a future together here the second time (whereas I saw it once last time I read 'The Road Ahead') coupled with the subject matter of this story and how Kim almost faced 'forever' without Ron in the negative sense of the word.

The scene 'Payback' walks some very fine lines. While sensibilities can differ to one direction or the other, I personally feel you managed to avoid falling to either side on the line in what you pulled off. It was definitely a hard scene to walk that tightrope with, though :).

I really, really like Idolization. I've actually been visualizing what the signing session would look like. (It helps that I've actually gone to get peoples' autographs, and chatted with some of them, so I kind of know what it's probably like to see that group of people that only seems to replenish as you try to work through it.) I believe I said (or implied) this before, but bringing the story around full circle to revisiting the idea of 'forever' in a different sense was something I thought would help glue the whole story together nicely. I'm glad you did that.

readerjunkie chapter 9 . 12/29/2010
Great ending can't wait to see what your next story will be like.
Mr. Wizard chapter 9 . 12/29/2010
I, for one, could not think of a better ending. You kept a wonderful touch of KP humor throughout the entire story.
CajunBear73 chapter 9 . 12/29/2010
Quirky end to a quirky tale.

But nice.

Kim's life is returning to normal, well as normal as it will be, and as normal as 'Mr never be normal' will let it...

Sentinel103 chapter 9 . 12/29/2010
OK first nice epilogue Reader101w. I hava a minor contention, that of Sego being 'modest', I don't see any evidence of that in her during the show (she is showed too many times in very revealing swimsuits). She is evil she, (in my mind) would use everything in her bag of tricks to get the edge. And if a clothing mishap occured she would just roll with it. She is an adult not some blushing teen heroine. And she is quite capable of beating the snot out of any villain or henchman who even thought of taking advantage of her.

So other than that, good job. You probably can let it rest unless you want to re-visit this re-occuring dream thing in college.

Earl Allison chapter 9 . 12/29/2010
A great ending to a great story. Nice to see Kim getting Shego a little, and Shego and Kim making a tentative 'respective' peace.

Thanks for the story.

Take it and run,
