tugs at the heartstrings. once again you are able to say so much while limiting your words. good job. very nicely done, and I get so annoyed with mal/inara because it seems so many people try and fail to do this pairing justice. This was not the case with this story, it made me smile and be sad at the same time.

Interesting and effective how the imagery of contrast between Mal's things and Inara's things mirrors the contrast between themselves but how they somehow fit together.
