As I'm sure you've been told, by any number of readers with a military background, Yes, Dear John letters (phone calls, SKYPE messages, etc.) are still used and still called that. And they are also severely frowned upon by the military community as being awful for morale.

They can get the sender in all sorts of trouble, if there is any military affiliated presence around - not officially, of course - that would be bad pooky. No, it's usually taken care of by the wives (or spouses) and daughters (or other children) of the military members that are likewise attached to the same unit.

I know of more relationships ended by Dear John letters than anything else. And usually the sender of the letter is just being short-sighted. It's either they found someone new, they got tired of waiting, or they were not really that serious to begin with. It's sad.

But that comes from a person who was the daughter of a career Navy man and then married another sailor (but not on purpose!). I've dealt with the Surface Navy and the Submarine Service. They have different ways, but they still have very few rules for the spouses and support network - mainly BE a support network.

Oh, man. That was beautiful! I love this fic. It's a perfect depiction of those two having a child. That little darling is her fathers' daughter 100%. And the crew's reaction was freakin' fantastic. I always do feel sorry for Tessa, though. She carries such a torch for Souske, but Chidori is just to perfect for him to allow anyone else. By the way, will you be continuing this story? I would love to see Kurt and Millissa visit the proud parents. I can just see the newborn try to salute someone while wiggling about. That would be such an adorable scene

Can I just cuddle these stories, gift wrap them, and mail them to the baby-stork so he can bring them back to me because these babies are just too f***ing PRECIOUS.

I just want to say that this story is really freakin' adorable, and I love it. I've probably read it about 5 times through now.

There is one thing that bugs me. In chapter you mention that she is a little over a week old, but the things you have her doing in this chapter are not things a baby that young can do. She wouldn't have the muscles to even roll over on to her stomach. Don't get me wrong, I love every bit of it. I just wanted to point out that the age you gave her messes with your continuity. I might work better to flip flop this chapter with chapter 3 and make it seem like she's gotten a little older or something.

All in all it's a cute story and I love it!

I really hope you keep writing this; it's very very good and extremely cute and adorable! You capture the characters so well, everything they do is believable and I can literally see it all happening! This isn't the first time I've read it either, and if anything it gets better and better each time I do, so, yeah.
