Wow, that was gorgeous. Very, very gorgeous. Shisui is so brilliantly characterized here, and his story and background are great.

So many lines that were beautiful or tearjerking (and no, the two are not mutually exclusive)! The way he slowly falls in love with Itachi~~

What the hell is this, woman? How do you DO this? It's the best Shisui's-life!story I've ever read, oh my god. IT WAS A HAPPY DAY WHEN YOU GOT SUCKED INTO THIS FANDOM, DO NOT EVER LEAVE OR I WILL HUNT YOU DOWN.

Your perceptions of war, the sacrifices involved, and the dichotomies between ordinary shinobi and "leaders" like the Yondaime never fails to amaze me and make me jump up and down screaming YESYESYES! because really, would it be too hard for fic writers to admit that lovely Konoha isn't as idealistic and utopian as Kishi would like us to think?

This part burned my soul to a crisp:

...in Shisui's mind, there will never be two strangers as worthy of living as the mother who was the world...

I lost it at "yellow fishes in a cup". Seriously. Tears streaming down the cheeks and everything.

Your Shisui is so...so REAL. His love for Itachi, so selfish in the best of ways. A human need like breathing or eating, beautiful in its starkness. A desire so close it's almost indistinguishable from the rest of the sensory world. I can't think of their love any other way.

I don't even know what to say to you except that I am so, so lucky that a writer like you writes for my two favorite ships, and every time you write something it becomes my new FAVORITE EVER (this beat out "Flightpath," by a very narrow margin).

Two things:

a) POST IT ON BITTER_NAKANO? Or at least on your LJ (YAY) so I can link to it forever and people can shower you with loooooove?

b) I wrote you Shisui/Hinata/(Itachi)! And I reeeaaally hope you like it. Really really.
