Wow. That was a great story, but I don’t think I can find it in myself to forgive you the last chapter. I understood when spot and even skittery had to die. It made sense to the story development... but the ending was crazy, in a crazy out of character way, that I simply can’t get over.

Whaaaatt? That's a little dark for David. Not a huge fan of the ending but a great story regardless. Kudos! :)

That's was such an amazing read. So intense and well written and dang I'm still processing this story but it was so so so good. Even if my favorite characters all died at the hands of my other favorite characters. Gah!

There are very few stories that make me so unbelievably angry at a character, or with a character. And there are even fewer that make me cry. And I have to say, you are one Hell of an author. I tip my hat to thee...

Oh my god! This was crazy intense. I really like your characterization of Spot and Jack, you really gave them so much depth. The ending is so sad! But I was sucked into the story from the first sentence, loved it.

This played out perfectly. I'm scared to read the epilogue though because it's such an excellent story. Hmm, mayhaps I will stalk your profile for another story that interests meh. Well, onwards to the last chapter :o I hope Spot didn't die, but between him and Dave, I want Davey to live so him and Vanessa can be together. (and work out her affair ha) :) Wonderful job!

Vanessa's prego! haha, I wondered since the beginning if she was but got sidetracked by her affair. I love/hate the scene where Race dies. He's my second favorite newsie.

Spot and churches is just not something that goes together, I see what you meant in your review to Following You . I LOVE the historically accurate references. I never seem to find books about this era (obviously I'm not looking hard enough!) but I HAVE, however, seen Gangs of New York at my library. I'll have to get it sometime (did you see the movie loosely based off of it? Besides Cameron Diaz, I enjoyed it lol)!

Well, I'm off to read the next chapter because I'll literally die if I don't know what happens next ;)

Like every chapter of every story of yours I read, I loved it! I was thinking Skittery since ya introduced him but I'll be kinda sad if he kills Oscar (first time THAT has ever happened) cuz ya know he has a family. :(

Awe. Though I can't picture Spot and Sarah, I still feel bad. Sigh. So, why do I have a funny feeling this fic isn't going to end well? I really want to trust you that ATLEAST Spot and David live, but I have a picture of Skittery just killing everyone off.

Haaaa, I really dislike Jack but then I've always hated liars (who doesn't?) but seriously? He promised to marry her and he runs away. Doesn't sound like Vanessa had a baby, though, I guess I'll find out.

I DO like Skittery. If only for the fact that he's smart. Alcohol is a wonderful way to get people talking and it's obvious he's heading in the direction of that money. I bet anything Spot'll out smart him, though.

Perhaps I have too much faith in the former Brooklyn Leader? I shall continue to read to find out! Great job, you are such a wonderful writer!

Gah, what warnings from the first chapter? I had to actually go back and re-read it haha. So, I kinda giggled when Race said, "I might be dead in five years" Because he IS a gambler and he would be stupid enough to get into debt (although in my story of him, he's not so bad. But then I think the best of people haha).

Anywho, I knew Vanessa's affair would come out. They always do. Question is, will she tell David? Or will it come out another way? Hmm, I needs to read the next chapter!

I like it. I kinda guessed at Jack and her having a relationship and I love knowing I'm right (who doesn't? haha). I like how the bacon burned. Maybe I'm reading into things too much but it was kind of a metaphor for their relationship burning up there at the end.

I'm wondering if they will end it. It sounded like it, but sometimes people don't follow through. Guess I'll see :)

Hmm, and now that Jack perhaps is staying and David's bringing home Spot they'll be in quite a pickle! This next chapter should be interesting, and I'm excited to see what else Vanessa and Jack had going on that you hinted about in your end note!

This chapter is awesome. For the simple fact that I love Spot (how obvious my love is lol). And now I know why Spot's always been nice to Davey, he was in love with Sarah . But, from the sounds of it, she's not alive, aye?

Oh, and I meant to mention this in the last chapter but I forgot. I love the small references back to the movie!

And on another note, I like how you got Spot's character down-pat. I could see him wallowing and feeling like he's not good enough for a sweet girl like Sarah. (A Spotism I was going to bring up in future chapters of Say When's sequel, haha. It's SO him, though.)
