Anyway, excellent piece, and I love the use of second person narrative to draw the reader in. That, I think, more than anything works to make this such a powerful piece. _

Wow. Theis part really got me: "Things in the loft have changed recently. When you weren’t looking (which is pretty much all the time), someone had gone around and replaced all the mirrors with pictures of a frightening man-child-ghost who stares at you and blinks back with wide, sunken eyes. This thing has pale skin and dirty hair and sometimes faintly reminds you of someone you used to know."

The second person writing is used very effective here. I'm not sure, but is the person that finally "noticed" Mark himself?

I was just absent-mindedly skimming through various fanfics, finding nothing that I really liked. Then I came to yours. I read it. I read it again. I felt. You captured the state of apthay perfectly and by doing so, you pulled me out of my own unfeeling state. Your fic was simple. Mark seemed almost childlike using simple statements and words to describe simple emotions. And yet, your words registered as elaborate making me whirl with emotion like fanfics never do. I have tried unsuccessfully in the past to capture the apathatic state in my own writings and my attempts have not come close to what you just produced. Thank you.

this was the most powerful fic i have read in a while. congratulations on such a talent. and it doesnt need to have a certain plot to be good..it was heartfelt thinking which sometimes is even work.

::squeal:: I love it! I mean.. poor Mark, but I still enjoy it. I've never seen a story with Mark having some sort of eating disorder.. it's so sad that no one notices. ::sniff:: But who does in the end? Is it himself? Or someone else? Will you tell us?
