What an unusual premise, but little Spock and Little Uhura are adorable and I love how this situation gives Sarek and Amanda a uniquely unobscured perspective on them. Also, really nice touch depicting Spock as staying silent and apart, hovering near the door, and pressing his forehead against the wall. And the moment he gets news that he thinks Uhura is dead, he starts to wail. Having been responsible for a roomful of three-year-olds for several weeks in a row, I saw this exact behavior from one boy. (Not that he thought anyone was dead, but whenever his parents dropped him off, he'd be standing in exactly that posture and that position in the room, wailing, until his tears dried up and he'd be silent, until he'd start to relax and then abruptly join all the other children and starting playing with them, indistinguishable from the rest in terms of behavior from that point on.) So your description of 3-to-4-year-old Spock doing that just felt spot on.

I enjoyed Amanda's fascination with the little ones, and Sarek's gentleness and willingness to understand his son's perspective. Such a welcome change from all the long-held tension between them.

Spock declaring his love for Uhura is so sweet! I really like Spock talking in Vulcan and defending his love . this story is really cute and funny.

I love the tender interaction between Spock and Uhura, it's so cute how he took care of her. Plus Uhura used a quote from the Bible:"your people are my people" nice touch. Also that Spock's supported. Him and they shared great dialogs together.

I really like how the children interacted ! How protective little Spock is. Wish it could fit in TOS which I love the best! This is a great story enjoyed reading, like the positive interaction of Spock's parents.
