This. Is. Absolutely. Phenomonal.

When I found this, I was overjoyed. You came up with an amazing and fascinating alternate timeline, and absolutely nailed L, Ryuk, and Soichiro Yagami's characters. I'd say you nailed Light too, but there was the one tiny fact that he didn't connect the dots between his stalker and Kira without a perceptible reason (sorry, that really took me out of the story). Your writing and formatting is great. I really love the incorporation of Light's journal entries, and I can really hear his voice in them.

Your closeness to Japanese culture really shows in your story so far too. The only problem is, in this chapter, you started doing the "third-person" thing that L does in so many English fics!

In Japanese, fine. Go ahead. But lord, we are reading an ENGLISH fic, for ENGLISH-SPEAKING people. Why are we doing Japanese grammar all of a sudden? It makes no sense! They didnt even do that in the Dub!

All I'm saying is, like the ignorant-Light thing, its really taking me out of the story. I know you wrote this nearly ten years ago, but if you're reading this, please know that it didnt work for you. I really hope it doesn't continue, because it will make the story really hard to finish if it does. And that sucks, because I love this story so far!

Your fic is amazing. This is a work of art. Please don't make me unable to get back into it. To any fanfiction deity reading this review, I'm begging you.

I know, a comment too short. It's weird, but after reading this long story I don't know what to write- just that I really enjoyed it :)

Wait, Mikami is Light's stalker and the new first Kira? Oh dear lord, now they're screwed. He's even crazier than Kira-Light, and I mean before he got his hands on the death note.

I cant tell you how much I loved this story. I really cherished having Light as a genuinely good character and how that would allow him and L to actually meet without the inevitability of one of them killing the other. It was always my favourite part of the deathnote series when Light lost his memories and worked with L.

The premise was creepy but I was absolutely hooked from the first chapter. The way you wove the original characters into the story in new ways was fun to read.

So glad everything worked out in the end. You just gave me the happy ending I so desperately needed and I look forward to reading this story again and again in future!

this is a really well done story, but i take issue with this treatment of naomi. i was enjoying the fact that she was someone L trusted and respected, LIKE IN CANON, so i was thrown when she was just mischaracterized and discarded.

besides which, testing light's reaction to stalker-related things seems like something L himself would do. it's weird that this version of him is so scandalized by it.
