You know... I'm not really one to read Bleach fics. I'm more of a Naruto/TMNT fanficcer. However, I love this pairing and I really, really enjoyed reading this. I usually judge a persons writing ability by the number of reviews they have (I know, it's terrible to do and it's not always correct- I mean, look at me. Plenty reviews and work that is far from up to standard.) I am so, so glad that I chose to read yours anyway. I believe that you deserve a ton more reviews and that you are a writer with great potential. Keep up the good work.

Ooooooooooooh my gosh. Hoooooooly crud! Best RenjiRuki fic there is to find on this whole site, I swear to anyone who's reading this! It was so cute and scary (NO ONE kills Renji. NO ONE XD) and AWEsome, and kudos to you for keeping them both in character and making this whole fic amazing. Incredible job! :)

This story totally deserves more reviews! It's so sweet and sad and dramatic all in one, I can't believe other RenRuki fans haven't jumped on this yet.

The setting is quite effective, everyone's in-character, and the angst is perfectly juxtaposed with the romance and hope between these two. Very well done! I especially enjoy the inner dialogues of Renji and Rukia; very honest and pure sounding. "But all those apologized paled in comparison to what he'd wanted to say to her since he was made lieutenant—hell, since they were kids. Something that he had taken a long time to realize himself. When he finally acknowledged it—why his heart leapt every time he saw her, why he sometimes had trouble saying her name, why he felt an overpowering, consuming need to protect her, make sure she was happy—he'd been terrified." Brilliance! I absolutely ADORE that paragraph. I don't think I've ever agreed more with a description of Renji's feelings.

One thing irks me, though... I don't think the "we" in Rukia's sentence would really be enough for Renji to assume she meant romance. They used to be best friends, "we" could easily mean their old friendship and how they never fully reconciled. Anyways, its a minor point, and I'm being picky. Can't waat for the final chapter, I hope you realize how much I'm anticipating it! :)

Excellent start, I liked the description of the battle scene and the arrancar. At the ending sentence, I thought the thing that would probably be going through Rukias mind would be an echo of the memory of what had happened with Kaien and the hope that it wouldn't turn out the same with Renji (Kaien died int he rain). I hope you update soon, I'll be looking for the next chapter.
