Why does she call him flight attendant in the beginning of this chapter?

This actually made me tear up. I've read quite a lot of Kaidan angst. And this...really got me. I'm not sure why. I think it's just the way that he breaks and what he says. When people die, they're gone, and the don't come back. Knowing what is to come that really...resonated with me.

I wanted a particular kind of story, since I'm working through ME2 right now. I knew the horizon bit was coming, so when I got past it I really wanted a romantic take on 1 to remind me of what I'd forgotten as well as play into my little shipper heart, and Valkyrie was just what I was looking for. Well written, decently paced, and just what I needed. I hunted through tons of things to find it, too! Great job... I'll keep reading the rest with relish.

Iv'e been reading all your fics to get me back in the mood before ME3 comes out and they are just fab this is my fave so far. I loved how you brought to life the gap between ME1 ending and the destruction of the Normandy it was superior in every way. The flashbacks were great too now I'm off to read the 3rd one and cry when its over because I will finish it too quick then have nothing to do till ME3 still mass effect 1 and 2 could be re-played again...

So, I didn't enjoy part 2 of this story as much as I enjoyed part 1, but it did have a few great parts to it. I LOVED the chapter with Wrex. I find he is often overlooked but your take on him was great! The part with the Japanese garden was nice too. I also liked that you put the whole Liara struggling with Shep's body. I always have a hard time when she goes to the funeral already haven given Cerberus the body. Yours happened later so it wasn't as bad for me. Lastly, I'm glad you gave them a hard time about how to move forward with the relationship. With both of their personalities and morals, it makes more sense for them to struggle with breaking regs. All that being said, can't wait to start on part 3!

This story is amazing. It's just... painful. Made even more painful by the flashbacks of fun and tenderness between the characters. Your descriptions are so evocative; I especially love Kaidan describing tasks and chores as bullets, used to literally kill time. The anguish of the characters is just... well, painful. Fantastic work.

One note, a mistake I see you make over and over is substituting the word "loose" for "lose". May want to keep an eye out for that. Otherwise, I can't think of any complaints.

This was sweet-well, the Kaidan and Shepard part anyways. He doesn't feel well and comes to her for comfort. Aww... :) I like that.

Ugh. He's really good at putting those walls up, huh? If I were Shepard, I'd wonder what he really felt if he thought it was going to be that simple to go back to being just friends again. :(

I love your telling of events. They are so very plausible. They will be hard to keep separate from the game details for me-like they are the canon story.

I'm real happy to hear there is going to be a part 3 because part 2 didn't end it just stopped. Can't wait to read the rest. Thanks.
