Hello spirit prince! If he and Kagome are that close maybe he knows about her being from the future and what year it is in her time? And after the final battle he returns and "questions " a unlucky villager about Kagome? And then kills him to keep him from talking. And Kagome was able to bring Shippo with her to her time because he jumped with Inuyasha into the tama.

Maybe after they return to her time Princey makes a deal with spirit of a certain bat thief that if he can steal a certain gem at a shrine he will be given his freedom from Reki and keep his new life. But our favorite bat and prince don't know that Kagome and the tama are one. Of course Kurone doesn't know who and what he is going after just that he will do this job and then find Kagome and never let her go again.

As for why not use team there are many reasons but number is why I think Yusuke what chosen to be a detective in the first place. He is leverage against his cousin if they have to one day force her to hand over the jewel.

Ps Kagome and the gang sometimes gets gifts for helping others so could Kurone's necklace be a gift from Kagome that she got from that? Would explain why he was so desperate to get it back that he cost his life. It was the only thing that he had left from Kagome. Like Rum's chipped cup in Once upon a time episode Skin Deep. Aww! So sad and sweet!

Alfred Noyes is one of my absolute favorites. I memorized "The Highwayman" back in 7th grade. It's always been my very favorite poem, followed closely by "The Raven" by Edgar Allen Poe.

I'd've liked to see this expanded maybe, a long conversation between the two discussing the poem, or him coming back when she goes back through the well.

We read that last year, The Highwayman...I liked it :)
