I think my brain just exploded.

Ever since the advent of New Who, I've kinda been wondering what happened to Compassion (in fact, I've even read theories that River is actually an alternate version of Compassion, and that consoles me a bit).

Her thoughts on time and space and everything that broke down and shattered after the Time War are amazing to me, and it hits home a point that I've been worrying since... well, pretty much since Tennant took over the role (and even more since The End of Time). The Doctor absolutely cannot die. The universe won't allow it, simply because, without the last of the Time Lords around to keep cleaning up the messes left over from the War, things would go boom pretty quickly. Who else is going to do his job? The Time Agency? They're kaput (and were mostly useless anyway, from what I can gather). Ten's Children of Time? Pretty much useless without time travel. Jenny? Can't see Time (yet). Therefore... we need the Doctor.

Or, alternately, we need Compassion. But since I highly doubt that Moffat will ever give her any acknowledgement, we'll have to settle for the universe's favorite alien.

And this was the train of thought that my mind dragged me down after being exploded by your generally all-around wonderful story.

It was great to see the 8th Doctor's companions again! 10 out of 10 stars! (I wish they'd show up in the new Who too-ah, well. At least we got that cameo from Jack!)

Ooooh very cool. I can't remember who Nathaniel Silver is though... but I haven't read the books in ages, and I only got to number 70 anyway.

Which is really lame, now that I think about it. There was what, three left?

Anyway - very cool job. Compassion is such a fantastic character, and Fitz has long been a favourite companion of mine.

Loved this bit; it made me smile - "Whoever ended The war did a shoddy job of it (so it really does stand to reason that it was The Doctor.)"

Next time though, go over your work before posting - there are a few typos, like periods that should be commas, or lowercase letters that should be capitalized.
