dini chapter 1 . 8/12/2010
So, I reread the whole delicate series this morning, I was up way too early and no one else was up yet... I'm clearly a glutton for punishment, lol. I knew it would make me all teary eyed, but it's such a beautiful series that I just can't resist it. Your Cameron is so wonderful, I adore him and all he does for John. Your John breaks my heart sometimes, but he's a fighter, and even though he's still struggling with this stuff, he tries so hard, and he's so adorable. I love every minute of hearting break angst - you write it so well. And I love the cheesy romance and Cam hiding John's cooking pans, even amidst all the sad stuff, it always makes me smile. Besides, you know John/Cam is one of my favorite pairings.
Lee Pyro chapter 1 . 8/2/2010
I just finished reading this series for the second time, I loved it. I raced through it out of order the first time and re-read much slower, in chronological order, the second time so I had much different viewpoints both times.

This story hits several very personal notes for me and I loved that you did justice to the characters, they're likeable and believable. You didn't over-girlify Cam & John but the romance between the two is wonderful to read, you kept a lot of problems that a character like John would face and didn't overdo or understate them. You found just the perfect balance and I enjoyed reading it. I especially like John & Daniel's relationship, on first glance one wouldn't expect those two characters to be best friends but it worked well. There were points in the overall story that seem a bit cheesy but it feels intentional and I liked the reprieve from the darker parts.

The dialogue was wonderfully written. There are a few points especially that really hit me, John asking "Promise?", and some of Cam's inner dialogue were very poignant moments. I kept having to stop reading to keep from crying, I've had some of those conversations myself almost word for word and action for action; you wrote them beautifully.

I don't usually read slash or abuse fics but your summary intrigued me and I'm glad I stuck it out. These stories are golden. Thank you for posting. I look forward to reading more. Keep writing.

purrfus chapter 1 . 6/28/2010
You continue to amaze and delight.

The story has its own process and plot while staying connected to the series as a whole, and the ultimate goal - getting John comfortable in his own skin.
brainchild chapter 1 . 6/6/2010
This whole series is just like a punch to the gut. Emotional and evocative. I thought you did an amazing job showing the reactions of the people around John. The details and the family being worried, and Rodney knowing real hatred now, and the way John shared his story "he didn't fit" was so powerful.

Very, very well done.
Jolinar00 chapter 1 . 6/1/2010
I love this story. Please don't make me weit too long to read what happens next
Giggles149 chapter 1 . 5/31/2010
I actually found this installment a lot less angsty then the previous one. I am rather hopeful now. It does follow the 3 step forward - 2 step backward progress a lot of abuse survivors seem to go through. Yes, John has set-backs etc, but overall he's allowed Cam in, they cuddle and now at the end of it, they even sleep together, so all in all I count this as a win (might be the rose-coloured glasses again)

Still trying to get a handle on Mrs Mitchell. The inviting oneself around sounds very familiar, we had a surprise visit for mothers day and wasn't that exciting :-) (don't know how to do a sarcastic smiley). I think you are right, if your son is dating someone like John, you would not be deliriously happy either. Does your Cam have siblings? I can't remember, but I thought if I start rereading all installments I won't have time to review. Anyway I hope she'll come around, cause John and Cam are EPIC (sorry, couldn't resist). I like Cam firmly suggesting it was time to go after 2 weeks (it took my other half 6 weeks). The wedding and the conversation with his uncles suggests that John is desperatly trying, but I am actually not sure he should be as open with the Mitchells (past the 'he's had a rough childhood' sorta thing). For one thing, his uncles are his father's siblings and have known him longer and his past has had a direct influence in how he dealt with them. It is slightly different with Cam's mum and I honestly think why should he justify himself to Cam's mum. I suppose that probably tells you a lot about my relationship with the in-laws.

The introduction of Carson was nicely done. The joint bank occount had me in stitches and please don't get me started on the rubbing off joke :-)

Best line of the fic has to be: "And if all else fails… I know how to grow corn." in fact I'm thinking that that could possibly be my all time favourite line of Cam Mitchell in fanfiction ever.

Hope you have another installment within you. If not, you still rock as a writer. Thank you.
