I'm not sure if you didn't know who Lorelai was talking about in the show, but the Shenaide that you wrote about is actually Sinead, as in Sinead O'Connor, except with an accent over the e. Sinead is an Irish musician that Lorelai loves on the show, and her music is very beautiful and haunting.

Once you get on the Literati (Rory/Jess) train, it's hard to get off again! I can't stand Narco (Rory/Dean) either, it's just suckish. I get the appeal in the first season, back before he turned into a cheating, drunken stalker who refuses to let go of his high school sweetheart, but it just doesn't WORK! Sophies (Rory/Logan) is okay, it definitely got pretty good in S7, but Lit is it. Period. Full stop. End of concept. Lit is the best, that's all. I can come up with a list of approximately ten thousand reasons why it's amazing, and if you want, I'll totally share... ;)

This is full of epic and I love it and I wish we'd gotten to see a scene like this in canon! W00t for Lit awesomeness! Hope you write more Lit oneshots or twoshots or maybe even threeshots if you're feeling ambitious very, very soon, because this is fantastic!

I personally think that you got the voices pretty much down-pat. Maybe not Lorelai's, but it's a rare gift to be able to write Lorelai properly. Hell, even the actual writers of the show had a hard time with it once ASP temporarily abandoned her creation!
