3 Questions:
- Why is her first response to pretty much everything irrational, volcanic anger?
- Are psychiatric medications compatible with a part goddess/part faerie/part human constitution?
- Why is she okay with Godric’s dominating & possessive nature/behavior/posturing but not Eric’s?

Choices, choices ... Let’s see ... leave the home where she’s been invited to stay with E&G (where she has all the hours of daylight to have as ‘her space’) to move back to a farmhouse, alone, where her only neighbor is creepy Compton? Oh, and then instead of just living on the money she can earn for telepathic services (which can provide her with more money in two or three weeks than she would earn waitressing at Merlotte’s in a year) she’s gonna go back to the grease pit & serve the assholes who’ve thought badly of her for her whole life. And just wait until the townsfolk find out she’s sleeping with both E&G — together. That will make for some fine musing for her to have to hear out of the customers’ minds. AND back to my question about psychiatric medications...

The A/N says Lexie isn’t aware of a faerie connection for Sookie at this point, but if they are both members of the Brigant line, why would Lexie have been able to tell that Sookie, with her god/goddess powers bound, was from Hades line, but not sense faerie/Brigant in her too? Hmm. Time to squelch my questions, see if I can find some patience, & keep reading for answers.

I gotta say, it’s too bad one of those newly unbound powers wasn’t the cure to Sookie being a mercurial, reactive bitch. She’s mad at Eric, she feels guilty and forgives Eric, she’s mad at Eric, she feels guilty and forgives Eric, she’s mad at Eric, she feels guilty and forgives Eric, she’s mad at Eric, she feels guilty and forgives Eric, ... She’d sure save a lot of energy and avoid a lot of hurt feelings if she’d learn to shut her trap and think before lashing out irrationally.

Okaaaayy — I’m a little confused. So Sookie is at least part goddess, but is she also faerie as a separate genetic/family line?

Lexie mentioned spending time in Faery & she’s a Brigant. Sookie is usually of the Brigant/royal faerie line. Lexie said Sookie is a princess of the royal line of the underworld — so, two descended from two separate royal lines? It’s hard to figure since the relationship to Hades is through her mother, but the faerie traditionally comes from her father’s side in SVM/TB. That may easily hold true here, except that it’s odd for her to have an aunt that would also come from the same two lines as Sookie’s mother & father seem to be from.

Aaaaaaannd — how might members of either of the royal lines feel about a breathing princess of their line being bonded with Eric & Godric?

What about Jason? Will he turn out to be a dud like in canon. Assuming they both have the same biological parents, even without an essential (faerie) spark, the god/goddess influence from the mother could be there in him. Yikes! Frightening thought — knee-jerk, irrational Sookie with god/goddess powers & faerie powers AND moronic Jason with any powers?!

So many questions. Guess I’d better head to the next chapter!

One thing I like about this Sookie is that she shows some actual respect for the age, experience, & wisdom of the vampires around her. Most versions focus on more shallow attributes when they bother to think of anyone or anything other than themselves.

That said, since they’re kicking this three way relationship into high gear, it sure seems a conversation about whatever the 3-way version of monogamy is called needs to be happening ASAP. Come to think of it, Sookie’s whole freak-out was in contradiction to Eric & Godric’s angry response when Isabel suggested they drink from donors. If she paid better attention she shouldn’t have had more than a brief, knee jerk response of insecurity & jealousy when she spotted E & G surrounded by females vying for their attention. Then again, I guess that wouldn’t be very Sookie-like.

Hm. Is it bizarre on my part that the idea of watching a ballet performed by vampires is one of the most appealing things I’ve seen in all this SVM/TB fiction? There’s lots to appeal, like the enhanced sex and healing blood, but most of the pros are fully balanced by cons. But the ballet — it just stands apart from everything else & makes me long for that as a reality.

I know it’s standard Sookie character behavior to cling to her sucky waitress job (nothing against being a server, but at least she could go for a place that isn’t a grease pit full of people who’ve been judging her as defective her whole life) and to struggle with Christian based morality (CBM), it’s absurd & hypocritical. Why on earth would it be more wrong to live in the same how while unmarried to the men she’s already having sex with. If she’s actually trying to live under the CBM ideas, she shouldn’t be having sex while not married. Since she’s already way past that, why does where she lives while continuing to have unmarried sex cause any qualms?

What she SHOULD BE concerned with are the risk & annoyance factors of living in her farmhouse JUST ACROSS THE CEMETERY FROM COMPTON’S PLACE. Then there’s the extra risk in being so far from where her protectors/vampires live & work AND the isolation of her house should any other supes take too much interest in her.

This is another instance of a Sookie that could really benefit from some serious medicating. From hazed over & sated to screeching banshee in the blink of an eye with Eric. Mood swings that fast & intense are definitely diagnosable! A standard dumb ass version of the character too, once again protesting that she can take care of herself & doesn’t need security. Yup, sure. She’d have been in great shape if she hadn’t have had guards earlier in the day to prevent her personal sniper from getting off another shot. (On that topic, what happens to the glamoured Daniel if he sees Sookie alive & well in the future?)

I really like the edginess and stark contrast between this Godric’s gentle, considerate outer face & manner versus the darkness & questionably controlled inner reality. Inside he feels like he’s hanging from a ledge by his fingernails, trying desperately not to slip into acting as the ravenous beast he’s capable of being. That sense of tension is amplified by the surprising juxtaposition with Eric’s (apparently) better/more manageable self-control. In SVM vampire parameters, Godric as the elder vampire should have more control than his much younger Child, but that doesn’t account for Godric’s history with Ulrich & Celestine whereas in this story, Eric’s missing the historical damage he would have had from Appius as a more canon/SVM version of the character.

I find it a bit creepy that Godric is using a nearly identical pet name for Sookie as he used for Celestine. I would prefer that my lover use something more unique to me than a recycled pet name. It’s akin to being given an engagement ring that had originally been given to another woman in a relationship that didn’t last. Verbal ‘sloppy seconds.’

After reading chapter 8, I’m reading along in dread of Ulrich & Celestine showing up later (à la Appius & Alexei). Ulrich threatening Sookie would be bad enough, but I’d guess Celestine would be a nightmare given her original relationship with Godric and her subsequent torture & turning by Ulrich. I soooooo do not want to read scenes that they might be in in future to hurt the new ‘triplet’ of E/S/G.

Ugh. The perpetual insistence on being angry with Eric is irksome. A large measure of true self-awareness coupled with even a little sense of humor would go a long way in making this Sookie seem less stupidly reactive, foolish, and narrow minded as well as less tiresome while I’m reading through her mental self-flagellations and accusatory jabs at all things Eric.

I know this is typical Sookie character behavior, but it grew old for me before the end of the SVM book series which was long before reading so many FFs using the same annoying personality for her. For the life of me, I can’t reconcile how she always seems to gloss over the smutty & insulting thoughts towards her that those she’s reading are trying to conceal, but Eric’s open & honest pursuit & admiration for her are treated like high crimes against her. I get that Compton manipulated her to think the worst of Eric, but now that she knows what Compton is, it shouldn’t be so difficult to reconsider her opinions on Eric.

Eeeeeessh! I’m really hoping this side of this Sookie makes some drastic improvements and soon!

She is weird because she will probably bring home 15,000 from this trip alone which is probably almost a whole year what she would make at a bar where 99% of the people treat her like shit she reminds me of an abused dog who still tries to get comfort from her abuser like a kicked puppy she is the ultimate door mat to anyone who treats her like shit but when people are genuine and treat her nice she is a total bitch and a spaz.

Just binge read everything you have so far, so good! I can't wait for the next update! keep up the awesome work.
