Reviews for The InDark
fringeperson chapter 30 . 7/22/2018
*low whistle*

You are an amazing writer. I'm sorry to see that this fic hasn't had any attention on-site for a few years, but I'm not going to beg for more. I will wish, but not beg. I know how annoying that can be.

Thank you for writing this. Very much. Thank you.

This section has the eyesight repeat twice, i'm enjoying the story but I won't be surprised if you delete this barely there review anyway.

already happened to me, in some sense."
Amy leaned forward in her seat and said, "I have one question: does this whole 'Slayer' thing explain your eyesight?"
Smiling slightly, Daria said, "It figures that that would be the first thing you'd pick on.
"But I have," Jane said, "Seen magic; I've seen someone run up as fast as the Flash would have, pick someone up like you or I would pick up a camera, and run off just as fast; I've seen people claiming to be Knights attack innocent people, or nearly so; I've seen a woman change into a leopard; and I've seen Daria here do things physically that Olympic athletes would cheerfully murder their own mothers to be able to pull off. Hell, she outran me without hardly trying, and my ability to run is one of the few things I'm confident in. You saw her pick up the sofa yourself, and you saw those cultists."
"Now," Daria said, "Is an excellent time for the application of Ockham's Razor."
"No need for that," Amy said. "I was half-convinced already. But it is a lot to take in all at once."
"So no need to worry about you contacting Sheppard Pratt?" Jane asked.
"For Daria, no. I'm not so sure about me."
"I know how that feels," Daria said. "It took me a while to be convinced, and it had already happened to me, in some sense."
Amy leaned forward in her seat and said, "I have one question: does this whole 'Slayer' thing explain your eyesight?"
Smiling slightly, Daria said, "It figures that that would be the first thing you'd pick on. Only partially.

I was in the crossover section of the other day, and chanced upon your story April 10, 1997. The idea of Faith being a split personality of Daria Morgendorffer was a brilliant as well as an interesting take on how these two words could collide. I gave your story a chance then I couldn't put it down. You write just that well; you keep readers hooked after that first line. Once finished, I quickly gobbled up The Sum of Their Parts and That's What You'll Take to the Grave. I couldn't get enough on your story telling.

I truly commend you for having stayed true to the Buffy verse (while putting your own unique twists on these later seasons) as well as to the Daria universe. Every character that wasn't yours, you have treated as if they were. I think even Joss Whedon, Glen Eichler and Susie Lewis Lynn would enjoy these writings. I really do.

I've also genuinely fallen in love with your original characters too. They've got their own personalities and do not (in any way) seem or sound forced. They are not merely creations to help with the pacing of your story, which some writers have a habit of doing on . Also, none of them strike me as Mary Sues (thank goodness for that).

Now, after devouring your other Buffy/Daria tales, I am reading The InDark. Sadly, it didn't escape my notice that this latest installment in the series hasn't been updated in quite some time. I hope you will eventually return to this story. It is one of the best fanfictions I have come across in a long time. Good for its own sake; original where other stories feel hashed out.

Being a writer myself, I understand when a particular story just isn't speaking to us anymore. Case in point: I am (after over a 2 year hiatus) finally returning to my own unfinished stories. Stories I published on here years ago. Sometimes our muses leaves us. It cannot be helped, such is life. However, The InDark will remain on my alert list simply on that off chance that you might revisit it one day. I'd love to see where this story arch goes, as well as any spin offs that could come from it.

Thank you for the ride. I've enjoyed Daria Faith Morgendorffer. I've enjoyed the clash and melding of two unique universes. More importantly, I've enjoyed your writing. Take care. And, again, thank you for the ride. )
