No other people. And somehow, that makes me sad. Awesome fic with the awesome characterization of awesomeness.

So. I read this pieece this morning on my phone.

And spent the rest of the day SPAZZING AND TRYING TO GET TO A COMPUTER TO REVIEW. Specifically, a computer that didn't block like the ones at school. (Yeah, I wasn't too keen on class today.)

Simply put, this is /fantastic/. Somewhere between "No smoking on school grounds, Vice-President." and "He looks at Hibari and slowly, with deliberation, puts his cigarette out on the school building like the suicidal bastard he is." I decided this was pretty much the best AU ever created-and then you threw in Ken and Chikusa and Yamamoto and everyone's plans for the future and proved me so very, very right. There were a couple missing punctuation marks, one of which I see you caught, the other being a missing quotation mark in front of "You graduate tomorrow," but otherwise the language throughout flowed perfectly and set just the write tone for the layout and the plot.

Everyone was in character, everything has a point, and the fight scene is better than you give yourself credit for. And there is one detail in particular that I'd like to point out.

I don't like Hibari in the manga. He's basically a very violent plank of wood with a nice face, and Amano isn't very good at letting her readers in to see a character's depth if they aren't one of the three mains. I don't like how much attention he gets in the fandom, and I usually don't like him in pairings, and I /certainly/ don't like him in most fanfiction, because he's mostly either even flatter than usual or /caring/ in a way that is so entirely not how he was intended.

Your Hibari yanked at my heartstrings like they littered on school grounds. You got him to give a shit about something other than Namimori in a way that made my fixation on proper character portrayal stand at attention and praise the high heavens, because I have maybe five times total been this utterly impressed by how a Hibari was written. I had to mention it. I was floored.

ah since i read this ages ago and just skimmed through it now i shall give my 5 cents worth of thoughts on this. as usual there is nice portrayal of characters that stayed in character. i still wished there was more action but hey you can't have everything these days. being a long time reader i am still not very used to the use of curse words in this piece of writing, but it serves its purpose in flushing out the characters and their personalities. my favourite line has got to be the laser vision, that was awesome. well now we are just left to wonder about the rest of the story? what happens after he is home...the mystery
