I know you've probably heard this, but this is a very beautiful story! Quotation marks would be appreciated so that it might be a tad bit easier to read, but overall fantastic job here!

Beautifully written :'( I was enthralled the whole time reading, and the self-POV writing style made it feel so immersive!

This story was helga to give up the one person she ever truly loved because all she cared about was arnolds happiness is the definition of unselfish love. She was right to say that she was the strongest person he would ever know.i was really moved by this story.

oh my goodness. that was BEAUTIFUL. i can't even describe the emotions i'm feeling right now!

now i understand that arnold never ends with helga in this story but holy crap, i just LOVE this story. i respect the fact that there isn't the usual happy ending. but the fact that helga had gained so much at the end, i really appreciated it. it was amazing. and the way it was written? it was so much better than most fanfics i've read. and at the same time, there was so much emotion and power; i honestly felt helga's confusion and pain.

Your writing style is eloquent and beautiful and such a pleasure to read. The story itself has a bittersweet and fragile taste and brought tears to my eyes many times while reading. I have to tell you, your use of the third person narrative is one of best I have ever read, as well.

This story was great!

I really loved this story, it made me cry. You style and writing is impeccable and just amazing. However I was a bit confused. After she kisses him at the prom does she leave? Because she thinks he deserves someone better and because her family would have just messed everything up? It was truly amazing but extremely saddening. Spell-bounding, well done.

Took me three days to read this, off and on, mostly because I was so busy. But during that entire time all I could think about was what was going to happen next! Bravo, I say, bravo.

Wow. That was an absolutely stunning story. Very nearly made me cry, and I don't often say that. Just ... beautiful, well done.

This is the saddest story that I've read. I have to read it twice for full understanding. I think I cried all night. It can't just be her "magnificient fantasy" that have created all this beautiful love story. And it couldn't be possible that Arnold never had't have an aproximation, at least, in the real life.

On the other hand, I love your writing, the persective, the description of feelings, the touch...I' m jealous. Your style remember me Elfriede Jelinek.

Wow. I really, really love your writing.

But the ending confused me so! Is Helga against being with Arnold moreso for incase they ever broke up (nothing would be the same) or because she simply won't get support from her family? I mean, Helga can hold strong on her own, and she of all people doesn't NEED the approval of anyone.

I did have tears in my eye, probably because I was more angry with Helga more than anything.
