Reviews for A Startling Revelation
thorn chapter 1 . 6/5/2012
i reveiwed to let you know this has touched me in a very deep personal way, in a way i will never forget this story. I understand obi wan completley and it is very hard. You captured each moment perfectly. Obi-wan was sad but not "i am a baby" sad, it was obi-wan being sad in a mature way. The part where qui-gon touched the ribbon and was bombarded by all the sadness and visions, it was, breathtaking.

this was my absolute favorite part of the story, the part that made me feel horrible for obi wan, it was also the part that "touched me in the deep personal way":

I tapped into one of the visions that was hitting me through the Force and nearly gasped at the intensity of the emotions. In my mind I could see Obi-Wan, coming back to the Temple after receiving his award. He had snuck quietly into our quarters but upon realizing I hadn't returned from Tahl's yet he had collapsed in the center of the room, falling to his knees with a small cry. Tears had streamed down his face and I could distinctly hear him asking what he had to do to make me care for him.

i loved when he said: what do i have to do to make him care for me.

I love this story.

Peace Out!
KyuuketsukiNekko chapter 1 . 2/22/2012
All I can say is: Thank you ever so much for writing this. I have to agree 100% with your view on the last books. I like Tahl as a character, but I absolutely did not like the random romance thrown in with her and Qui-Gon. I especially did not like how unnecessarily tense and strained it made his and Obi-Wan's relationship. I enjoyed all the books until that little sub-plot became a main focus. [/rant oh I'm so sorry]

As for your story, all I can say is that it's one of my favorites. I love how you wrote it, whether they were a bit out of character or not. I'm not a huge fan of first-person stories, but this one really stood out to me. I loved it. Amazing job! :D

Umbrae Calamitas chapter 1 . 3/1/2009
Whatever gods graced you with the ability to make people cry must have also conveniently forgotten to give me at least some immunity to it. You're the only person I know who has written so many pieces of work that can make my tears fall through the entirety of them. I liked this, despite how Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan are out of character. It was a good idea, and very well-written, naturally.
