| Quis Custodiet chapter 12 . 9/22/2015 This was a pretty cute story. There are a couple of minor quibbles I think that I have, such as the fact that Kyon is the actual tsundere in the series, Haruhi is more of a "Jerk with a heart of gold" (which is sort of their dynamic in the books as well) and I thought that the whole subplot with the alternative dimension Kyon was very hackneyed. It should have ended with Kyon confessing to Haruhi and not a sci-fi fight scene. That being said though, you did a good job with the scene with Haruhi's father as well as developing her family back story and you observed the cardinal rule of romance/dramas - break up the couple, to get them back together again. You even included a classic example of the "big misunderstanding" as well. Yeah, I know they're all tropes, but they're enjoyable to see done well in a fanfiction. Over all, I really enjoyed this story and I have to admit that I wasn't expecting to from the basic plot premise and the first couple of chapters which were mostly straight fluff. However, you really pulled it together at the end here. Well done. Cheers |
