Okay, I am now up-to-date with this fabulous story *w* I frigging LOVE it! I'm really picky with grammar, so once I saw that you said your grammar wasn't great, I was actually not going to read this story, but of course, I accidentally read the first sentence of the story and was already intrigued, and I'm so glad for that! This story is amazing, and your grammar isn't THAT bad. It's not annoying or extremely distracting. Actually, I'm Intermediate 4 and above in German, so I can easily understand some of your mistakes and translate them into full English (namely, when you have something like "He was stopped"). If you ever need any help with English by the way, I'm pretty good at it -
Oki so I have a few questions. First of all, you named Night Shadow's species..., but is he ever going to get an actual name like Toothless? Maybe something like Brownie lol. Or Toothie!
Ok, let's see if I can remember my other questions... Oh, I looked at your profile, and it says the last time it was updated was 2013. (It's really great that you added the month and year to your profile; I appreciated that.) It's been a while since you've been on here. Are you ever going to come back, or...?
Ok um... oh! How could I forget?! So, I've plugged in a couple of the fanart urls, but I couldn't find any one of them. I added .com after deviantart, and it at least was a real URL, but it said that what I was looking for doesn't exist/I put in the wrong URL... I am on my phone, so I'll try it on my computer. It might also be because we're in different countries...
Ok... whelp, I think that's all my–... oh my ghouls, wtf is wrong with me. Your author's notes! Ok, so, you've definitely improved by actually putting SOMETHING between your author's notes and the actual story, and I like how you put START instead of SKIP this chapter because that shows that it's different from a story break. This is just fine as it is, but I just want to tell you how I (and others) signify author's notes. Personally, I put my author's notes in bold (unless it's in the middle of the story, but you don't have any middle-of-the-story author's notes).
Now about the actual story breaks..., sometimes, they aren't "skips," just a change of view. Since you never do first person, I actually am not quite sure how you'd do it smoothly..., but in your situation (typically in rps), I've put -With Whoever-. Like, you might put "-With Hiccup-". Just a suggestion. If there is a skip of time, by all means, put it just as you have been. (Personally, I put a line break. That's one of the things I really like about is that they have a line break thing.)
And I might as well mention the whole sex thing, too. It took me a while to realize wtf they were even talking about, with Hiccup being like 'I can't believe I just did that; I refuse to even look at Toothless, never mind touching him!' I literally was so confused. There was an obvious thing that had happened between that chapter and the one before. This might be that you deleted ch. 10; I don't know. But at least tell your readers 'hey, they had sex' in some way. If it is ch. 10 that explains that, while you're working on it, put an author's note at the beginning of ch. 11, say something like 'Hey y'all, I'm fixing ch. 10 up, so it's not posted right now, but here's the gist of what happens: they have sex.'
