After playing through all three games several more times in the past few years... Rereading this for the hundredth time. I'm still unable to function after reading.
This continues to be one of the best Shakarian stories ever written.

what a beautiful, emotional piece. All the love and joy and pain is perfectly captured-and I love SO MUCH all the little details you dropped in about their lives together, adopting sons and being interviewed and still blazing around the galaxy...

Wow, there's enough feeling here to make my teeth ache. Really, the feelings here were just too good and even more than that, so thoughtfully written. Ending on that last line, now that was perfect.

So I'm crying now... Thank thank for that. Sobbing frikken mess rn. Making gross sad sounds. Ugh. This was so sweet and sad. It shows how mortal we really are and even love can't sustain us forever. Beautifully written. Garrus was right. 100 years isn't long enouth. Loved it, terribly. The though of Garrus reminicing as Jane dies. I can't. I truly can't right now...
