I like that Ace and the Doctor's relationship is portrayed as complex and ambiguous. You don't gloss over the fact that the Doctor is a different species to us and wants/needs different things.

Oh, interesting - I like how you've captured that awkwardness and the shy approach even as they are both dealing with hurt feelings and frustration. Poor Doctor, always at a disadvantage in this kind of situation.
