Great story! You managed to integrate the two groups amazingly well. Hope you do many more stories!
Sylphrena33 chapter 9 . 1/30/2018
Great job, I really enjoyed this story. Well done especially with character development, especially with Kinch, Frodo, and Sam.
Guest 2 chapter 7 . 9/20/2017
Hello, I really like your story! It's super fun! :D You're author note about Darwin kind of rubbed me wrong though. Darwinism didn't give Nazi an excuse, it doesn't have anything to do with humans or social behavior, it's about mutations in animals that helped them survive in different environments, find other food sources, develop new defense or attack methodes. The nazi just took it as an excuse like everything else. The primary reason why they targeted jews, roma, sinti, homosexuals, disabled people and other groups first was simple because they were minorities that people already discriminated against. Since the dark middle ages christians discriminated against jews, blamed them for plague, accused them of poisening wells and don't get me started on crusades. And when we're already talking about the crusades Gandalf is wrong when he said that people distance themselves from their Creator to commit evil. Religion one of the oldest "reasons" to commit unspeakable atrocities. During the crusades christian knights killed, raped and enslaved thousands of people all the while thinking god would forgive them their sins because of this. The spanish inquisition, fanatic muslims, the list goes on and on and not to forget the people taking religion as an excuse to discriminate against women, homosexuals, transsexuals and many others!
The Princess Maker chapter 9 . 8/10/2015
This story was one of the first I ever read when I found this site a few years back. I'm a big
"Hogan's Heroes" fan and I love the LoTR! It was fun to see both groups of characters bonding with
one another, Hochstetter's "swearing bitterly" was hilarious, and Schultz's reaction to Boromir pretending to be Kinch sounded EXACTLY like something Schultz would say :) All in all, it is probably one of my favorite stories on this site!
Quacked Lurker chapter 9 . 2/28/2015
Lovely story.
Don't read much LOTR, but I'm glad this exceptional work (mini-novel?) was written and shared.
I do like how you've incorporated Christianity (and Judaism) in the chapters. I do agree - what we believe does affect how we view ourselves, our neighbors, and our enemies. If society tells us we evolved from monkeys, where is the respect for life, the honor for others experience, and the like?

This felt at once too short, yet just right.
And now Goldilocks for Col. Hogan makes sense - he's the one making the mess for the bears!
Lovely characterizations - and the balance between cultural shock and natural acceptance was a good blend.

Evil exists in many forms - the Ring was destroyed, but its touches remain. Hitler's Nazisim is now gone, but the effects still reverberate through the ages.
The tie-ins between the realms helped explain some of the Historical aspects, and some of the fictional aspects I thought I'd forgotten, or never properly gotten.

Take care, and may God bless you and keep you, and make his face shine upon yours.
Jeff Riley Snow chapter 9 . 1/6/2015
Thank you so much for writing this story. I have recently discovered fan fiction, and love how you wove two opposite groups into one tale.

Keep up the good work. I look forward to reading more crossover fan fiction from you.

Thalion Estel chapter 9 . 5/16/2014
What a great and funny story! The characters are well done, the humor is perfect, and there are several solid biblical principles. I also caught that veggie tales reference, and I am still laughing. Excellent job!

To quote Spock, "fascinating."
IrishDancer chapter 8 . 1/19/2012
I can't believe it! You stole a chapter title from Junior Asparagus of VeggieTales? Liked the bit about Boromir talking to the others about having to kill the enemy, and hoping they're evil, and not good men who were drafted.
IrishDancer chapter 3 . 1/19/2012
LOVED the do we have Indians in the woods around Stalag 13 bit!
