The first line, you called the man his "component." I think you mean "opponent." You also use the word "painfully" quite a bit-may want to switch it up a bit.

Also, uh... watson was in the army, and is a pretty tough guy. I think he could take care of himself. Bruises don't immediately show up after being hit. A crowd wouldn't just turn around and mind their own business when being yelled at like that.
