The second one had a lot more humor for me so I like it a little better. This one, the subject matter is just so sad at the end, it can't be a favorite because it's just so darn sad and awful to be in Dimitri's strigoi mind.

I can't imagine what he went through in those last few moments. Being able to see Rose in that last moment but then dying. I can't imagine having found these books while Richelle Mead was writing them, reading the last pages of Shadow Kiss and then having to wait months or a year for the next book to come out. I would have hated it. I was able to read all the books and short stories one after the other when I found them in the spring of 2017. Then Bloodlines ended with story threads not finished and I can't wait for Richelle Mead's new VA work to get written and published. At least we have hope since she said she was working on a new story, maybe about Declan.

I think it would be heartbreaking to read Dimitri's view in Blood Promise.

Shadow Kiss starts 3 weeks after Mason died. It's 31 days til Rose's birthday.

So Shadow Kiss basically takes place in about 2 weeks. I know it seems a LOT longer but it's only a few days. Later on Dimitri says they had sex about 3 weeks before she turned 18 so the cabin scene happened the first few days of March.

This part is one of my favorite parts in all the books, where he bares his heart to her and tells her how he got to being able to accept and love her openly. I think it's one of the best parts of the books. You told his side very well in it.

I love this part in the books and in your story. I think this was such a turning point for them. He has to trust her and she has to trust him, and she has to figure out the wards are weak and that's why Mason's ghost can get in. I don't know why other ghosts don't pester her at the same time though.

But this part of the story is my favorite. If they ever did this book as a movie I'd like to play the feeder that tells her the wards are weak. She's a smart lady.

I loved how you wrote this chapter. Very much like I thought he'd be when I was reading the books.

I'm surprised that Dimitri hasn't had any run ins with Adrian, he did come back to the school with everyone and it's been more than 3 weeks now, since Mason died. I figured he'd have seen him around and we know how much Adrian likes taunting him about being a cradle robber.

I forget that when you wrote this all the books weren't out yet. This is 2018 and Richelle Mead has said she's working on something new for the VA world. Might be something about Declan's life.
