Good story

Man this story made me laugh so much! The dialogue is hilarious and totally in character. This is a great fic to fill in some of the time of what happened while Hiccup was unconscious. Gobber is talented and more experience so this story makes a lot of sense.

Love the title and the theme that runs through this short fic. It's the improvements of the actual hardware and Stoick's attitude and the village. Great work!

I love how this story fills in the gaps of what happened to Hiccup when he was out cold. :D

Your How To Train Your Dragon fics all amaze me. You've done a wonderful job. Have a well deserved cookie!

Proof that Gobber always wins over Stoick eventually.

This totally ought to be a sequel to "Dragon Preoccupation" or rather that should be a prequel to this. With "Thanks" in between. They'd work really well as a set rather than being all disconnected, especially "Thanks".

Wow, I really LOVE your writing! I've read this story and thanks several times today just because I can imagine it happening! I was also wondering if you would write a story between Stoick and Gobber and what they were doing right before Hiccup woke up and walked out the door.

I've tried to write stories like these but I can't make them come out right, so if you wrote one I'd be really really happy.

Yay for friendship Stoick/Gobber stories! They always make me smile, lol. This story is awesome! I like the idea of Gobber making the new prosthetic tail wing [I can't remember if they say he does in the movie]; and I like how you show how overprotective Stoick is over Hiccup. "He's not getting back on that dragon." :P

aww you snuck in another one on me! Charming and quite funny. I loved Gobbers inner dialouge. Very appropriate. I love how he's still master of his domain. And I think it interesting you've worked on a part very overlooked in the story. We all know Gober made his leg, but no ones ever mentioned (till now) how his riding gear came about. Yes well all assumed Gobber made it, but it's nice to see someone put thought to his thought process. lol. Great work!

Unbelievably sweet, yet far from cheesy. Your sparse writing helped with that. This is such an unusual perspective from what I've seen here, but so valid with the movie. In that, Gobber really is the mediator between Gobber and Hiccup and seems to have more faith in Hiccup than Stoick does. Kind of a second father relationship. You totally made those themes clear here, and it was so touching. The examination of the blueprints was amazing, and I second the awesome of the criticism/praise balance on Hixcup's work. It's so sweet how Gobber rebuilds everything. The conversations between him and Stoick... Also priceless and in character. Guess we know how happily "think about it" works, but I font think Stoick can go from over-protective to more relaxed overnight especially with a half-dead kid lying in the bed. Well-done! I agree with Gobber: Hiccup is a blacksmith by heart.

Also, Gobber praising Hiccup's work, at the same time critiquing it? GOLD. The whole bit with Gobber knowing that Hiccup had the ability to do better with the designs is also very nice.
