Mahina chapter 6 . 4/18/2019 Wow wow wow! Hope you come back to this! Your writing is incredible, and I do love this AU you’ve created. So very curious where it was intended to go! |
Fangtasia chapter 6 . 9/20/2018 Hehe! Vader will surprise you when Luke's last name is revealed. And the others will react ... |
SpellCleaver chapter 6 . 9/15/2018 Luke had the guts to smile at Vader. He had the guts to SMILE at DARTH VADER. I love this kid. "If anyone but Luke had used that line on her, she would have drop-kicked them in the face." I love Leia too. I really liked the comparison between what Leia (and the rest of the galaxy) thinks Vader compared to what Luke, who has access to more information on him (I assume?) thinks. Or, doesn't think. Leia makes her frustration clear when Luke is never specific. About ANYTHING. I'm sorry I can't stop laughing at the image of Vader walking around the Venetus terrorising Wes and Wedge and everything. His thoughts about them being "scum" were brilliant, and hilarious to read. Okay so Vader *doesn't* know about Luke, he's just very impressed with and curious about him. I can't wait for him to find out. Also, the fact that Vader can go from having a semi-civil conversation with someone about the Force and whether it's real then immediately turn around to slice another person's head off is why I love reading about him, to be honest. Vader's definitely going to be keeping an eye on Luke from here on. "Just who was this Luke, really?" Oh, Luke's in for it now. Vader's curious about him. Nothing's going to stay a secret for much longer. I absolutely adore this fic, and where it's going, and all the thing's you've set up for it, and I hope you return to it someday! :) |
SpellCleaver chapter 5 . 9/15/2018 The fact that Luke knows instantly that the Empire is monitoring comms is written to be very logical, but you still leave me in awe. That sort of thing... Maybe Luke *is* some wild Greek deity with strange, inexplicable skills. "Luke wondered what he thought of that... Wasn't it Sith ritual to cut ties with all of that?" WHAT DOES HE KNOW ABOUT HIS FATHER? THE SITH? TELL ME PLEASE I NEED TO KNOW. Luke's encounter was Boba Fett was so well-written. So much was conveyed in just a few lines, and just... Wow you are good at this. Wes must REALLY trust Luke if he's willing to dock with a freaking Star Destroyer - and *Vader's* SD at that - because he felt like it would be fine. Why was Vader looking at Luke? Why does he keep holding his attention? Does Vader know? Ahhhh… (I'm very curious, if you can't tell.) "Either we have already or we will eventually." WHAT IS HE ANTICIPATING WILL HAPPEN BECAUSE OF HIM? I feel like I'm reading way too much into randomly dropped lines but you're SUCH A GOOD WRITER it's hard not to. "If I play my cards right?" What cards does he have!? Of course. Phew. Of course Luke's not gonna give them back. I wonder how he's gonna fake it though, especially with Vader being able to sense lies... There's so much fantastic set up in this story, I can't wait to see what you do with it! |
SpellCleaver chapter 4 . 9/15/2018 Sorry I keep spamming you with reviews, but I have a lot to say about this amazing fic. Luke's internal monologue is constantly referencing Tatooine. It's like he's obsessed with it, or obsessed with hating it. Did he do something he regrets there, and doesn't want to face it? Or does the thought of it just bring up memories of being trapped, so he hates it for that? "No one's tracking us." "That we know of." IS THIS FORESHADOWING? Why didn't the asteroids come up on the radar? Was the radar being jammed or something? Did someone want them to crash? Hmm... I love that you had Leia abandon them to help the Alliance, without telling them. That's so Leia. She has a moral code, right and wrong, and she's going to follow it, dammit. Wes getting increasingly confused as to how Luke knows so much about Tatooine but that getting eclipsed by Luke being confusing in general is my knew favourite thing to read. You write this version of Luke so well - even with access to his internal thoughts, WE DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT HIM. Oh no. Vader's here. This is where the fun begins... |
SpellCleaver chapter 3 . 9/15/2018 The small detail of how rare the letter Z is everywhere except on that planet was probably my favourite line in this - it's a tiny observation, but I love it. Luke ripping into the shopkeeper for selling sub-standard stuff was really entertaining to read. BOBA FETT. Who's he working for? What do they want? The plot's moving forward, and I have so many questions... I loved that conversation between Luke and Leia about what she would do if they had to work for the Empire, the way Leia tries to push her feelings deep down. I very much doubt Luke would ever actually make her work for the Empire if it wasn't absolutely necessary - we've already established that money is *not* all he cares about - but it was interesting to explore that. "The blond had some sort of... aversion to the guy. Well, everyone did, but Luke more so than usual." Ughhh, you're killing me with all these hints at what Luke does and doesn't know. LUKE SUMMONED THE SHAKER TO HIS HAND. HE MUST'VE. HE HAS BEEN TRAINED. (Has he?) God, I'm so keeps getting better and better! |
SpellCleaver chapter 2 . 9/15/2018 It's really interesting that even the people on Tatooine didn't know much about him - was the Lars farm extremely secluded, or just kept itself to itself? And I wonder why Luke walked away from them... The fact that Leia, when asked about Luke, went from vulnerable and worried to cold and cut off in two seconds fits her character so well - hesitant to open up to people - and I'm in awe of how you managed to convey her discomfort in a single line of text. "He'd always been just Luke, and there really wasn't much of a point in changing that." Did Luke not know he was called Skywalker? Was he not raised with that knowledge? I have so many questions about this one line, and I'm dying to know more about this. "He'd learned after years that feeling stuff didn't mean shit." Yeah, until Luke says he gets a Bad Feeling about something and everyone learns to trust it because it'll saves their asses... I love Han's appraisal of Luke, though. Luke description of Leia as "home" is amazing 3 And Luke left the farm because he had an urge to wander? That made sense. I like the idea that Obi-Wan did his best to support Luke is his dreams about wandering the galaxy...at the same time as encouraging him to seek his destiny, and follow the Force. Although, if Luke knows that both he and his father have it, I wonder how trained he is, or how much he knows about it... Another great chapter! |
SpellCleaver chapter 1 . 9/15/2018 Okay wow I love this story so far. Your writing style is fantastic and flows so well, I'm genuinely jealous (and you know how to use em-dashes! I only learned that a few weeks ago!) (I'm way too excited about that.) I really liked the part where Luke was just brushing his teeth. That was hilarious, and I love that pretty much no one knows anything about Luke, but just sort of see him as a Greek deity or something - unnaturally lucky, disappears at random points, brings chaos but also fortune to the people they like. Also, whose idea was it to masquerade as a medical facility for pregnant woman because that. Is. GOLD. Luke and Leia's close friendship despite knowing very little about each other is wonderful, and I am here for it. I wonder why Luke isn't going his last name. To hide from Vader? Does he know Vader's his father? Why did he leave Tatooine? I'm so curious... Luke's chivalry about the woman was sweet. I love Luke. "...My father was good with machines." HOW MUCH DOES LUKE KNOW ABOUT HIS FATHER? "You know, he's not *all* gone... The galaxy we live in is pretty strange." Understatement of the century. It makes me wonder how well Luke knew Ben, what he knew *about* Ben - "May the Force be with you" implies they trained somewhat? - and if he visits him as a ghost, what do they talk about. Ugh, I can't wait to find out. Leia resigned from the Alliance? That seems unlike her, but I'm sure she had her reasons. Maybe she thought Squad Venetus could make more of a difference. Onto the next chapter! Loving it so far :) |
Wfest chapter 6 . 8/24/2018 I totally agree with the reviewers before me, I too would love to read more of this AU. You write a very intriguing version of Luke and the Squad is an exciting concept, too. |
CyanDog chapter 6 . 6/7/2018 I'm really glad I found this fic, it was a really enjoyable read! |
nikprosta chapter 6 . 2/10/2018 Will there be more? I love it! |

rainnie chapter 6 . 1/28/2018 wow, this fic is sooooo good, so refreshing and so much potential. I absolutely love the way you write Luke, capable without being overwhelming. The way you wrote his character and his interaction with Vader is just so perfect. Hope to see this updated one of these days, lol! |
