This whole “How dare humans protect themselves from entities they barely understand that more often than not prey on humans if not for sustenance then for pleasure!” Thing that Harry has going on makes him and his groupies impossible to take seriously.

They’re being incredibly hypocritical and besides the one scene where Harry see’s the humans caged up as fucking pets, he seems to be completely ignoring how justified the existence of hunters is. His whole argument was “What would happen if all the species humans preyed on rose up?” Big difference there is that the vast majority of those species aren’t sentient or sapient.

I get that hunters get overzealous, this gets covered a lot through the shows run, like every time they kill a sentient “monster” that actually has thoughts and emotions the moral implications are brought up. But for this supposedly kind god that Harry is, he doesn’t seem to have any kindness or empathy towards the sentient species (a species he was a part of) that so many of his “Dark Beings” prey on. Like is Harry gonna try to justify the Strigha leaving dozens of dead children in every town it preys on every decade or so? After all the Strigha just needs to eat right? How about the shapeshifter torturing and ruining the lives of so many people just because they could? Literally every time vampires are brought up in the show, they’re shown to be completely apathetic to the suffering they cause humans. Are demented spirits gonna be given a free pass? Are wendigos going to be defended? After all they’re just following they’re nature right?

Hunters exist because humans had to adapt to entities and phenomena they barely understood. All they understood was that they were being preyed upon, made to suffer, and that they wanted it to stop. They are defending themselves, and the people who are entirely unaware that these dark beings exist. Harry blaming them for THEIR natural instincts is the height of hypocrisy, how dare they want revenge for the loved ones that were taken away from them by apathetic monsters though right? Not like Harry participated in mass scale revenge just a few chapters ago though right?

Sorry, this story is just conceptually broken, it does not work the way it was written. Like if you wanna write romance then write romance, don’t wrap it in some shitty, smug, “Humans are the real monsters though!” package.

Rationally i know this book is never going to be updated but FUCK. It’s a geddy-damn shame. Author, if you ever read this, you are an amazing writer and this story deserves so much clout. My heart ACHES that this wont be finished but know I’m always going to check back on this to see if it updates. No joke. This story is too good. I want our boys together and it’s so perfect the way you’ve written them and the concept? Freaking fantastic! I love the story arch and I hope you return to this. Please. Just pick up whenever and your fans will be back hungry for more.

this story is so much fun! and i love how slooooooow you are taking the soul mate relationship instead of just having them bone right away. also, i kinda like the jealousy between the brothers over harry. it is so illogical

Alright the plot is good i will admit that, i dont disagree about the slash so i will keep my judgement.

I'm not quite... /sure/ how I feel about this whole soulmate thing here. I mean sure, there are fantastic fics for soulmate AUs but this? This isn't even a SOULMATE AU. It's just a convenient little tool. This is just... like... I get that there is a bond but they can /only?/, /exclusively?/ feel it when they're touching? Okay. That's okay, but the first time they touch they suddenly want to jump his bones? And, they don't exactly /like/ Harry yet. So, as funny as it is, the relationship seem highly focused on physical side on things rather than the namesake that suggests, you know, the /soul/? And that's okay too, I guess, but it's a soulmate bond! This seems more and more like a sexual relationship than a soul bond. Cause, you know, soulmates? Soulmates don't work like that man. Well, okay, you can say that this is your AU and yeah, it is but you don't have to... /label/ the bond between them as a soulmate bond. Soulmate bonds are more like guidelines, telling someone that, hey, see this person here? Yeah, them. This, this is the one perfectly compatible to you, or highly compatible at least. And you can fall in love with them. It doesn't mean every one of them works out or that they'd magically fall in love at a touch. That's like the same misconception people have about "love at first sight" concept. Now, listen here, no, people don't /fall in love at first sight/. They just have this feeling, a sort of sixth sense if you want to name it, that the person they just saw is someone they can grow to love. That there is a possibility of romance between them and it is their own bloody choice if they decide to follow up on that or not. Soul mates are just... perhaps more, tangible is the word, than the love at first sight crap. If you think about it, they really aren't much different.

Okay, so I'm upset. And I am. Other than the fics that specifically state that it's soulmate AU, other fics are decidedly rubbish when it comes to exploring the marvelous creation that is a soul bond. That's all.
