Just wanted to say this is one of my favorite Dragon Age fanfics EVER. Such an great treatment of a topic which goes undiscussed too often, and that is how Alistair and Co deal with their trauma and its ripples onto their relationships after the Blight. Excellent writing, excellent characterization, and straight up a delight to read through and through, I've read it twice!

Omg did I NOT review? You were the first story I read here, and you are STILL one of my absolute FAVORITES. I don't have much time to write a long essay, but what you did here? It all fits in the World of Thedas. It was very close to MY canon of these characters, and I am so grateful to YOU for bringing it all to life.

Hey there. I just wanted to let you know that I discovered this story (as well as Shades of Grey) a little while ago and absolutely gobbled it up. And then a few months later read them again, because I absolutely had to.

I know that you don't really come around here any more, but I had to review all the same and let you know how much I enjoy your stories. They might possibly be my favorites I've found on fanfiction. As an aspiring writer, myself, who is always keeping an eye out for ways of captivating readers with my writing, there is so much about yours that I took note of. You have a gift for character voice and keeping in character (there were dozens of times when Alistair's dialogue or inner monologue made me laugh right out because of how perfectly 'Alistair' they were). Your pacing for tension between Alistair and Elissa is spot-on and very believable. You also have a knack for writing with subtlety (if that makes any sense). I loved the diversity of characters and that many of them had their own sub-plots, which all wove into the main story.

Basically both as a consumer and as a writer, I just adore this story.

Holy...moly. I am not exaggerating in the slightest when I say this chapter put tears in my eyes. The emotions were so raw and palpable. I felt so much for both of them, so much pain and sadness, I really can't wait to read more. Your writing is amazing! Consider yourself fav'd and followed! x

Wait- it took me a while to remember that Elissa was a grey warden. How did she get a kid? I thought it wasn't possible for grey wardens to bear children? That's why wardens have kids before they take the oath...?

Found this in my favourites folder when I was having a clear out and realised I'd never finished reading this from like - 4 years ago. Started over and read it in a few days - wonderful story - thanks so much for finishing it, it's really lovely.

A lovely work, well-written, with a fair amount of descriptiveness and pleasant pacing. Though the drama could have been prolonged, everything fell together nicely.

I can't believe I finished reading this...what a beautifully written story. I was so sorry and sad to hear about what happened to your main DAO story but was utterly thrilled to find this, and I wasn't disappointed at all. I loved that they got angry at each other and didn't trust right away. It seemed realistic to the characters and it was so well written. Thank you so much for the we fabulous 35 chapters and I can't wait to see what else you have written. :)

I would love to read about Daniel and Kern as they grow, if you are ever inspired to write a sequel...but perhaps with the second and third DA games you'd have little reason to.
