Truly great story. It was enjoyable to read and well written just like your first chapter.

I swear he stuck his head in willingly to get fish in the film, and that we've seen plenty of dragons willingly get wet in the show, like in Hookfang's trick in the first episode, or other times that they fish-not to mention the tidal-class dragons

i'm a little confused about Astrid's feelings on the matter now; to begin with she seemed annoyed but there were hints that it was bravado, like when she didn't know what to say. but then she wanted to leave quickly. and then after that she acknowledged that he had it bad by saying how lucky she was not to be him. so does she feel bad for him, think he's being silly/weak or not know what to think?

although I really liked the bit with being the luckiest person in the world that she wasn't him

Oh my gosh! I am IN LOVE with these oneshots! I love how you write the interactions between Hiccup and Toothless- you've got them both perfectly in character. Would you mind doing a prompt where Toothless gets jealous(and perhaps a bit possesive) when Hiccup hangs out/rides with/feeds another dragon?

Good story, it really captured how hiccup felt when his mom died.
I love it I just think toothless was a bit disturbing and I think he'd like hiccup more but that's just my thought I still loved the story it was amazing.

Aww! What a sweet chapter :) just wanted to say that at present, I'm sick too. Almost exactly the same symptoms as Hiccup. So, well, when I read this, it was strangely comforting, especially how Toothless and Stoick both care equally for Hiccup, but in their different ways :D

That was amaaaaaaazing. This is now my favourite. I think every next chapter is going to be my favourite if this keeps up. You got the Astrid-Hiccup thing done beautifully! And Toothless being in there for a moment wanting to eat Astrid! I can't tell you how happy I am that you're portraying Toothless as a DRAGON instead of a mostly-human-thingy like I've seen in other fics! He's so awesome, too awesome not to be shown the way you're showing him! Bravo!

Although I now have to fuss at you for almost making me cry with this chapter. *Whimpers*

I looooooooove what you did with Toothless! Because he is a /dragon/ after all, and dragons are natural predators! The top of their food chain! Hiccup is...well...pretty much the bottom of the food chain! I can totally see something like this happening, too. I mean, it would be pretty difficult for a dragon to go against his instincts about this kinda thing, after all. And poor Hiccup! *Cuddles him*

I love how realistic you're keeping this, and the way you're keeping everybody in character! Excellent work!

Firstly, I would like to formally apologise for the fact that, at this present time, I cannot actually log in to leave you a proper review, due to terrible internet connection. Hopefully at some point this will change.

Other than that I just really love the way you wrote this. I've been looking everywhere for good How To Train Your Dragon fanfictions, and have only found a few. Even just this first chapter was so worth reading, it made my day, and I mean that. I think you have everyone very in character, and your writing style is wonderful. You put in lots of details, without putting in too much, and you're excellent at showing instead of telling. Toothless in particular was absolutely wonderful! I loved your depictions of Toothless' thoughts on his 'hatchling' and his logic of humans standing up being a good thing. It was so perfect on so many levels.

And here's what I think you deserve an award for:

When Stoick says "You're running a fever," and then that note about it being an accusing statement. That was pure perfection right there. So in character. I loved that moment! Loved the whole thing, of course, but that line especially just...favourite thing. Absolutely fantastic! _

Ohhh! This is the best HTTD story I've read yet! Good job!
